Best Western Plus Franklin Square Inn Troy/Albany - Featured Reviews (884)
This hotel is fabulous! We have now stayed here twice and both times were perfect!
Previous reviews speak to a lack of cleanliness. This has not been our experience at all! Everything has always been spotless. The staff has been amazing and always very accommodating. The rooms are comfortable. We have already booked to go back 3 more times!
My only suggestion would be smart TV’s. There are times I travel alone and with sports and other shows now not always on regular channels it would have been nice to be able to stream on the TV.
It was a pleasure working with Franklin Plaza for our daughter’s wedding, which put us in connection with Franklin Square Inn for our guests. It was simply perfect having the hotel literally steps away from the reception venue. Rooms were very comfortable and clean and beautifully updated. Our suite was absolutely gorgeous. Loved how peaceful the hotel was at any hour. Front desk staff was great. Couldn’t have asked for a better combination of venue and hotel, and had the best overall experience! Great location too as far as nearby restaurants and pubs.
We stayed here because the wedding we were attending provided a bus from this hotel to the event. I think this hotel is not in a safe neighborhood. They lock the front doors at 10 pm, then you need a key to enter. No lounge, no pool, no gym, no microwave. Front desk strictly enforces a $50 uncharged for an early check-in. This is a 3 star hotel at a 5 star price.
A standard American hotel experience: cardboard walls, you can hear your neighbor sneeze. ||Guest rooms and common areas are clean and comfortable, hotel staff are helpful and pleasant ||Breakfast options are sugar, sugar, and more sugar, and a few ultra processed options that are fat and carbs, with sugar in top||Room windows do not open, and the air conditioner activates periodically throughout the night with a roar ||We paid $270 for a room for two, which stems too high for what is offered||Other options in the area seemed comparable in price and quality ||So it is really a matter of what customers put up with, and what passes for food and customer service in this country
This place had beautiful rooms, great bed and pillows. Lovely shower (no tub). The hot breakfast was more extensive than a normal full breakfast, and was excellent, with lots of choices. Our only issue was that there was no bran cereal, but instead there were two types of Cheerios and a kid's cereal. They need to substitute one for bran flakes/raisin bran. A bus tour was there, and they ran out of yogurts. I think they should have planned ahead for that. The only real complaint, thus the 4-star rating, is that there are no microwaves in the rooms, unusual in this day and age. We had to use the one in the lobby which was inconvenient. But overall, this is an excellent facility.
We visit this hotel as we have a loyolty card! It was very well appointed in lovely calm colors with easy parking. The address is a bit tricky with the use of numbers so be sure to put 1 4th street and dont get the numbers confused!||The reception was very nice and quick. ||We found a pub nearby and enjoyed a few hours over looking the Hudson River.||Breakfast was very good! The coffee maching is amazing.||I loved that there is shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. So no little plastic bottles laying around which is great.||Once we found our way, we had little problem getting to and from the 787 to go to Albany.
The location is why this hotel has customers. I have never been at a hotel without a microwave in the room. What an inconvenience to have to go to the lobby to microwave food. This hotel is in badly need of an upgrade.
Also, there were ants everywhere in the breakfast area, specifically the juice machine had several ants, I avoided drinking from there. The floor was also sticky and the overall area was not well kept and being maintenance as it should.
On my way down to breakfast the elevator was also full of nets and fruit flies, a clear indication that cleanliness isa major issue. You need bleach and other disinfectant products to properly sterilize these areas.
I work for the department of health in another state, however, if I worked in this state, I would have given this hotel several citation.
Emily and the staff at the Hilton Garden Inn were amazing this past weekend for our wedding. Emily was extremely responsive and helpful with setting up a room block. Our guests were all very happy with service and cleanliness of the rooms. The staff
I've had the pleasure of enjoying Alias's espresso in my first and most recent cortado at the weekly Farmers Marketðð. Today I decided to give a large black cup, no sugar, of their Tarrazú Farm house blend a swirl... This will be a simple revi
This spot has been a gem! Hasseim (I hope I spelled it right) is so hospitable and friendly! You feel welcomed and catered to when you come to his restaurant. Your order is made fresh, right there in front of you! You can taste the love and quality.
I LOVED my breakfast at Naughter's. I got the biscuits with sausage gravy, and it was super flavorful. The potatoes were great too. I also had a side sausage patty and it was delicious and lean. I can't wait until next time I'm in town so I can go he

Tonight I'm on a little adventure in my new home city. My first stop is The Hill, Beer & Wine Garden. Their lengthy list of "Euro" beers was extremely enticing. I had the Paulaner Hefe-Weizen and Fiddlehead IPA. The latter has a lot of personality an
