Best Western Plus Finger Lakes Inn & Suites - Hotel in Cortland - 3175 Finger Lakes E Dr, USA

This was my second time staying at this location and it is competitively priced with the local chain hotels. The lobby is nice and welcoming. The staff is pleasant. I haven't tried the breakfast, but it looks like a great assortment. I would have preferred a smart TV, but there are a lot of channels available and some free on-demand shows, which is nice. The rooms are a good size with refrigerator and microwave. Beds are comfortable. Chairs are comfortable. Good lighting. Blackout curtains are nice. I loved that I could open the window a little bit. Water pressure was good in the shower and the shower head is a good height. Ample parking. Nice location, close to Wal-Mart, major roads, mini-golf.

I was in Cortland for a family function and needed a last minute room. All the hotels were changing exorbitant rates due to a university parents weekend. I was not there for that. The Best Western seemed the most reasonable. I tried making a reservation on line but as I progressed more charges were being added. First $199 then $50 bringing the total to $399 which I thought pretty unreasonable for a BW. I thought calling the hotel directly I could get a reasonable rate but you can’t call them. If the publish a phone number it’s hard to find. I went thru a third party agency. They added $192 to the $399 for “taxes and service fees.” All the hotels were gouging. Some even starting at $500 before adding junk fees. I was too tired to just drive the $200 miles home. When I arrived at the hotel I spoke to the night clerk who was cordial and sympathetic. The next morning I spoke to a clerk who I presume to be the owner. He was rude and just said all the hotels are doing it. There seemed to be some glitch and he could not print a paper receipt. I asked for an email receipt. Still waiting. I am posting a photo of the reservation cost. One would think this kind of gouging and price fixing would not be worth the negative reviews. Message to owner, please don’t blame the third party agent, as you tend to do and you do have a record of me staying there. You just have not given me a receipt.

Hotel is just outside of Cortland. |Easy check in and out. Room was clean, bathroom clean. |Hallway coulda’ used an extra vacuuming but not a big deal. |Breakfast had hot and cold items; quite tasty and well represented. |Plenty of parking. |Closest restaurant is one mile away; an easy walk or drive. |I would stay here again.

We picked this hotel for the price, breakfast, and pool availability. The location was a little out of the way (had to travel 30 minutes each way for any activity around Ithaca). Breakfast options were limited and the food was not very tasty (not to mention the pancake machine was broken one day). There was a lot of noise from our upstairs neighbors and the pool broke during the second day, so we could not use it. Definitely not worth the money paid for this run down property (which was falsely advertised as recently renovated).

Best location if you are playing at the Lumber Yard. .5 miles away. Miniature golf next door to hotel, no driving. Very close to colleges. You are within 15 minutes to many decent restaurants. Would stay again.

This place is absolutely disgusting. Room was filthy, including bathroom and stairway. Elevator broken. Staff rude and disrespectful and unable to properly communicate in English. Overpriced. Do not stay here, you couldn’t pay me to step foot in there again.

I usually stay here when moving my son into/out of his apartment at College Suites (he is a student at Cortland) and this hotel never disappoints. Always clean. Always friendly. And their comfy mattress is great when you spend the whole day driving or moving boxes!

Clean and spacious room. No odors. ||Good quality toiletries. Comfortable bed. Adequate internet. || No recycling bin for cans, plastics, glass, paper. ||Typical breakfast fare. ||Location for my purposes was fine. Not walkable to anything. Overall an ok stay.
