Would definitely recommend. We had a very spacious waterfront room. It was clean, comfortable, and very nice with a private balcony and nice view of the lake and bridge. Front desk staff was extremely gracious and helpful. Our only complaint was they ran out of several items on the breakfast buffet. We felt they should have been prepared because they knew how many guests were in the hotel and they shouldn't have run out of food which made for a less than satisfactory breakfast experience for many of their guests. Otherwise, it was a great place and very convenient location to the ferry, shopping, and dining options in town.
We stayed here for a weekend in October in a lake side room. The hotel is in walking distance to both ferry docks, restaurants / breweries, and shopping. The room was very clean and comfortable. All items in the room worked fine and there were ample mirrors, outlets and places to get ready. The bathroom sink and counter was separate from the shower / toilet. The breakfast area was huge and had a decent selection. Kudos to the young man running it all by himself. Parking was very tight, it was extremely crowded and cars were double parking other guests, so be careful where you park! The front desk staff were friendly and we really have no complaints. We would definitely stay here again.
This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the Shepler’s ferry dock to Mackinaw Island and downtown Mackinaw City. The lake view rooms are nice but the courtyard rooms are also nice with a view of the bridge. There are lounge chairs on the beach and a couple of chairs and tables outside to enjoy the lake. The hotel is a little dated but clean and comfortable. Sandy at the front desk was friendly and helpful (hopefully you won’t need the manager, he needs a refresher course in customer service). |The breakfast room is very large and clean with lots of options including pancakes and ham, FYI they only offer hard boiled eggs (no scrambled) with the usual cereal, oatmeal, toast, muffins. Joshua in the breakfast room was on top of everything.
The location was great- close to shops, restaurants, and the ferry. The breakfast was location required you to walk outside in order to get to the building. We stayed in October so it made for a very brisk walk. The room was nice. Our room had a jacuzzi in it which was nice. The room was a bit cramped, but that was to be expected since it had a jacuzzi. The restaurants around the area had open signs on, but either didn't serve food or weren't actually open. Lighthouses and the bridge were within a 5-10 minute drive which was cool. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
The room was good. I have no complaints but I was lied to by the lady at the front desk on duty for October 12. I am a Best Western Platinum member and when I checked the website it said I was short 2000 points which I purchased but went back to book the room and the option to book with points was gone. I called the hotel and she said there was no way it was only 24 000 points. It is 36000 points. I called corporate and it was in fact 24000 points and she booked the room on my behalf. When I arrived I explained that and asked for an upgrade for my troubles and was told it was booked. I checked the website and the upgraded room was not booked and the vacancy side was lit up. I was just asking for a lakeview over courtyard view. Anyway, I don't like being lied to. Just be honest and say I'm sorry but I can't do that. That turned me off. The hotel itself is fine and I think it would a nice place to stay in the summer. Beautful beach and a great location. Too cold to take advantage of when i was there.
Great location. Great staff. They were very professional. The hotel itself is outdated. The sewer on the beach is gross. The jets in our jet tub were filthy. Breakfast could be better. The pool has so much chemical it bleached my clothes and burned my eyes. For the price it's great.
I had requested a first-floor room because I was traveling with my disabled father. He isn't able to walk long distances nor able to take stairs. The room given was a long walk from the handicap ramp or down a set of stairs. I asked for a different room. The room had an excellent view, was nicely decorated if a little dated, and right next to the elevator. While waiting to check in, I asked where the restroom was. It's in the pool area around the back of the lobby. So, for a disabled person to use it, they have to cross 20' of pool deck that is wet and slippery. How does this meet ADA? The breakfast was not worth it. Was so disappointed that we left a day early rather than stay the 2nd night I paid for.
Service at the front desk was unpleasant. Luckily I was only here for one night for work. The room was ok, very dark. My only view was siding from the other side of the hallway from my room. Please see the photos. When booking make sure you know where your room is. A co-worker had a lake side room, much nicer! Also, my door had 3 peep holes. Makes no difference to me but is very odd. Bottom line. Make sure you get a lake side room. Everything is pretty out dated. A plus is there is a liquor store across the street.

The room was clean. The room was quiet and it was nice the window opened to get a little fresh air. Close to shops and ferries!
Would stay there again! Great overnight. Stop to rest up and catch an early morning ferry!

What a fun little place! It was so weird in the most WONDERFUL way, honestly! The artists make all of the miniatures and everything is so thoughtful and creative! I love the fact that it was only $5 to get in to see everything. They have a nice selec
Gorgeous views of the Mackinaw bridge! I have pictures of my 7yo here when he was a toddler running through the sand. Now my 19mo old gets to enjoy the same park. There's swimming allowed here, but there's also a sign posted to swim at your own risk.
This place is absolutely beautiful and a great place to see the stars. Unfortunately, the day we went, it was cloudy so we were not able to see anything much. The seating area is very nice by the water, they have green space for people who wish to la
The presentation from the different staff members was very informative and engaging. I'm not huge on history but the gentleman that was doing the tour was so passionate and engaging in his presentation it made it interesting and easy to listen to. I
Worth a short drive from I75! Party of two seated quickly. Nice atmosphere. Fast and friendly service. Deep menu with lots of comfort food. In addition to the whitefish, we recommend hot turkey sandwich and pot roast sandwiches.
In August, my husband & I took my 2 youngest grandkids on tour in Michigan. We visited Conking Heritage Park. There was a Fur Traders re-enactment festival the 3rd thru they 8th. It was awesome! Its a beautiful little park
We came here in September 2023. We were choosing between this and another called the Rusty Spoke or something. Chose this for the Belgian beer. So glad we did.
The beer was good, but the atmosphere and the food were amazing. We went in the evening.
Amazing food for a bar, much exceeded my expectations. Some the best onion rings I have ever eaten. Light crispy not greasy. Italian sub was great with fried ham inside, nice touch. Definitely worth making a trip for.
Nice shopping area. The center has a stage area where some bands play with benches around to watch. If you're planning to go to mackinac island, some of the souvenirs here are cheaper than at the island itself. Ive compared and some are exactly the s
