Beautiful room! We had the king suite. Beds are amazingly comfortable with big fluffy pillows. I’m a bathroom critic especially with showers for cleanliness…it was spotless. | The decor of the hotel is great. Parking is never a problem. Front desk employee was very kind at our late night check in. These are my favorite hotels.

This place is a nice, affordable hotel that is convenient to the interstate. I've stayed here several times - most recently at the end of July 2024, and it was even better this year - it looks like it has been spruced up a bit and they have more breakfast options than last time I stayed there. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The room was clean and nicely furnished and had a fridge and microwave. I was traveling with my dog and I appreciate that at least several of their rooms have hard surfaces on their floors instead of carpet. The parking area is well lighted and there were sidewalks and some grassy areas nearby to walk my dog. I will definitely stay here again when passing through Des Moines. The only negative is that the original builders of the hotel did not put enough insulation between the floors, so I could hear every step above me - sleeping with a noise app helped.

We were in Des Moines for the Iowa State Fair and our experience at this Best Western made the trip extra special. It was extremely clean, close to the highway, and added a lot of little extras that you don’t get it other hotels. There’s a beautiful back patio, where you can sit and enjoy drinks or possibly bring back dinner, the pool is extra clean and has comfortable furniture instead of the cheap plastic stuff I’ve seen elsewhere. Even the towels and toilet paper in the room were tied into little bows on our arrival. I would highly recommend this hotel for families or business travelers. While we were there, they were working on painting the outside of the building and updating windows so I only see more positive things to come for this hotel. I 100% would return.

The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Our room was clean and well stocked, and the girls enjoyed the pool immensely. Breakfast was great, and had various Gluten Free options. The location was perfect for us as a break on a long trip! We will definitely plan to stay at this location again.

Pretty solid hotel. Beds were comfy enough, room was nice, breakfast was great but pancake machine was broken for a few days which sucked. One man at front desk wasn’t very friendly but another lady was very sweet and funny. Agree with the people saying bad insulation—could hear people walking above us, but it didn't really bother us. We never heard talking or noise from other rooms otherwise. Our bathtub/shower also wasn’t the best. The drain didn’t work great and if you showered for too long the water would pool up and it was like standing in a puddle. But at one point it completely stopped working and after a shower it was like standing in a bath of water. Thankfully the staff fixed our drain fast but also left some dirt looking residue behind—they could have cleaned the tub considering it’s not our fault the drain was broken. Overall a good hotel but there were a few things they could’ve improved on.

Stayed in king suite. Spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Bathroom spacious, no tub. Shower spacious. The shelf for the soap is inconvenient as you have to reach through the shower stream. Unsupervised children: This time of year, there are groups of kids and families traveling for baseball and softball. Many of them (grade-school aged) saw the need to play in the parking lot in the driveway to the hotel, not an adult in sight, so beware as you traverse the parking lot. The property is attached to a huge parking lot to the north, so there's plenty of places to play there. Kids were running around in the halls as well, and I didn't know what they were doing in the rooms, but we heard some slamming noises and felt a few vibrations in our room. Thankfully, that quieted down after 10:45 or so. Bed very comfortable. Sofa and chairs supportive. Breakfast was hot and reasonably fresh. Coffee was Keurig in the room and reconstituted in the lobby with real cream available. Green tea and Earl Grey are available for tea. Eating area spacious bright and clean. Nice patio area. Inspect the cushions before you sit as many appear to have food spots on them. The grounds are nicely maintained. The property has sidewalks around it and sidewalks along the frontage road so a person can easily attain a 1-mile walk safely. A couple of restaurants are easily walkable nearby. The layout inside and out seems thoughtful Convenient luggage carts. Staff are friendly. I would stay here again.

The room was nice and clean. There were plenty of complimentary items for bathroom use as well as the hot tub that was in the room. We loved the hot tub in the room! It was our whole rain for booking at this hotel! Plenty of towels. The staff was pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice floors in the rooms (no carpet) and the breakfast was great. We enjoyed the breakfast and the rooms were great. I liked how clean the rooms felt since there was no carpet. Would definitely stay there again. We traveled with our baseball team.
