Best Western Plus Dana Point Inn-by-the-Sea - Featured Reviews (455)
This was a great location for a one night stay after a concert in the area. After checking in we sat on the balcony of the room and relaxed watching the sea for a couple of hours before we headed out to dinner and the show. Very nice breakfast in the morning with good coffee and make your own waffle which was a treat. The staff are very nice and if you're looking for a beachy vibe this smaller hotel is perfect. It could use some renovating but all in all an affordable beach side spot.
The view is beautiful, even from most rooms! Plenty of chairs and tables to enjoy outside to enjoy the ocean. The staff was friendly and I always enjoy the Best Western breakfasts. This time it was even more amazing because they were serving made to order omelets on the patio! I've never seen that before. I would return to this location with my family.
The front desk personnel were great. Very busy but kept their cool. Room was not pristine, but the location was great. We loved the patio overlooking the ocean. Sunday morning omelets cooked to order on an outdoor grill was a nice touch. Overall good value for a beachfront hotel!
We had a two queen room. The room was clean and seemed recently renovated. Their was a separate sink outside the bathroom which was handy. Large screen TV. Comfortable beds. Air and heat conditioner worked well. Plenty of extra towels in the bathroom. It was nice to have a small table and chairs outside our door so we could see the ocean to the left of our room. This was room 210. Only drawback that it was a little far from shops and restaurants.
This hotel has a great vibe! I love the tropical decor outside in the common areas and the music playing in the afternoons. The buffet breakfast, served outside, looked great but I never had time to stop and partake. And though it is noisy with street traffic and the trains, the sight and sound of the ocean makes it all worthwhile. |On a bit of a negative note, the hotel is sadly in dire need of repair. The exterior paint is peeling and dull, there were wires hanging from the ceiling on the deck, the arm chair in the room was worn and dirty, the deck furniture is old and worn. There was a very peculiar odor when I first entered the room and soon figured out it was coming from the sink drain (it smelled like a perm). It was always there but I got used to it and didn't notice it as much. Also, the bed, though very comfortable, was ridiculously tall, making it difficult to get in to. Fortunately, I carry a little folding step stool in my car for just that reason.||I was visiting from Oregon, dealing with a complicated family situation and needed to extend my stay. Initially, I was told by the assistant manager that I could stay in the same room only one more night and would need to move for the additional 2 nights. I expressed my desire to avoid the inconvenience of moving and that I really preferred my oceanfront room. The next thing I knew Napolean called and said he was able to juggle some reservations so I could stay in my room. I was so grateful! Had he not been able to do that I would have moved (unhappily) but Napolean exceeded my expectations, making me a very happy camper!||Overall, I loved my time at the Inn by the Sea. It was relaxing and a comforting time at the end of my very stressful days.
Staff very friendly and welcoming the room was VERY clean. The location was wonderful right across from the ocean the convenience of taking the free trolley to get around was a bonus. ||The only thing I would suggest is not eating the breakfast go to a restaurant coffee was not good maybe if they got a better brand and made it stronger would have been so much better. The orange juice didn’t taste like orange juice I couldn’t eat anything on my plate eggs potatoes didn’t taste good.||I didn’t come for the food I came for the location which couldn’t have been more perfect.
Fantastic experience! Fantastic location. Napoleon and the rest of the staff were SO attentive! The breakfast (which was included) was SPECTACULAR; made to order eggs, omelette, bacon, sausage....it was incredible. I come to SoCal at least 3-4 times a year; I will be staying here from now on!
I always enjoy my stay here!! Napoleon the manager is very kind and is personalable. He visits with his guests and works hard at ensuring the hotel is clean and well maintained. He wants to ensure you have a nice vacation. The young man who took care of my reservation a few months ago was informative and friendly. I had a BEAUTIFUL ocean view from my balcony. The room is spacious, the bed was comfortable, and my room was very clean. It was convenient to have a fridge and microwave in the room. The TV selection was important so I could see my special sporting events. The housekeeping staff works very hard and are friendly. Thank you ALL for a WONDERFUL vacation!! I hope to be back soon! We loved our stay here! Me and my sister stayed, and she had her baby with her. The hotel provided a crib. Having the separate rooms was perfect- he slept in the other one. The beds were comfortable, my sister considered using the sofa pullout but it

Wonder nature reserve to check out. Everything is very natural. The atmosphere was very calm and collective. I love how they are trying to protect all of the amazing wildlife that surrounds Dana point. Snakes, birds, and mice all inhabit the area, a
Such a wonderful park and beach! It seems to be quieter than others in the area and has a nice big (free) parking lot at the entrance. There are washrooms and a rinse off station in the parking lot and a couple of different access points to the beach
Great place for the family. Walk along the marina, have lunch or ice cream! You can go kayaking, stand up paddle boarding or whale watching! Visit the Ocean Institute, learn about the tall ships docked at the learning center. Or just watch the waves
Great place for a walk with some areas for viewing the ocean side. The walking trail at this park is a switchback and very relaxing. The grass areas are a slope but can be walked on for some serious decline/incline workout. I saw some people being th
