Best Western Plus Coralville Hotel - Featured Reviews (129)
After a busy week of business travel, this stop-off point was perfect after flying into a nearby airport. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The staff was personable and friendly - they genuinely cared about my experience! The hotel did not reek of nasty industrial chemicals like some do. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. The walk-in glass shower in the room had a ceiling mounted rain showerhead and was a really nice touch and very refreshing. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. I had to catch up on a little work and the Internet worked well. Breakfast in the morning was not fancy but there were an adequate number of options, and it was decent. There is not a fancy bar or restaurant in this hotel, but if you are looking for a great place to stop, rest, and be comfortable, I would highly recommend this hotel. There was a bar-type counter in the lobby where you could purchase a limited number of beverages. I didn't take advantage of that, but there were a couple of gentlemen sitting there having a beer when I was checking in. The front desk person serves the beverages so it's not an actual bar with a bartender, but it offers this option if you don't feel like stepping out for a beer. Overall, a top-notch experience! I will definitely be back to this hotel when visiting this area.
I got in very late, and the front desk checked me in quickly. Didn't have to give them a credit card, just proved who I was by showing my ID. Everything was on file from my reservation. (That's the way it should always be, if you ask me!)||The room was super clean, smelled fresh, and was properly lit. Bathroom was spotless, and the bedding smelled fresh and clean. Best sleep I've had in ages! Super comfortable mattress. I suspect this is a fairly new property, and I was impressed. I'll be staying there the next time I go through Iowa City!
Very nice, newer hotel with a contemporary feel. Lobby area is spacious and well designed. Room was spacious, clean and tidy. Bonus for the rainfall shower head - I’d never seen that in this type of hotel before - great water pressure, too. Breakfast was so-so. Not great, not bad, but perfectly fine to start one’s day. Decent selection of items from waffles, scrambled eggs, muffins, cereal, fruit, etc. The reason I say it was so-so was nothing had much flavor, and the juices were watered down way too much. Overall, the stay in the hotel was a very good experience. Definitely a place I’d stay in again!
There Was hair still in the shower from the previous occupants. The door to our bathroom didn't close securely unless you pushed really hard and finagled the door handle. The lady who checked us in at night was very helpful. The morning receptionist was also helpful but she sat slumped behind the desk staring at her phone and wasn't alert to anything. But she was helpful and kind. And helped with more pool towels. The pool is my biggest concern. There were no lights in the pool area and it was only relying on the sun to come in to light up the pool area but it was overcast and slightly rainy and that means the pool wasn't easy and visible to see while my kids were playing in the pool and it's a giant safety concern. There was no way to turn on the lights in the pool area. Also the bathroom in the pool area had a non-working sign on it but the lady at the front desk tested it and the bathroom was working just fine. Plus there were towels from the previous night or earlier in the morning still layed strewn about in the pool area like it was never checked. Breakfast was also kind of a disaster but the front desk lady helped us get more yogurt even when the yogurt machine was not working well to dispense yogurt. There was an entire server that was empty of food.
Very comfortable and clean room. Great breakfast selections and beautiful lobby with nice gathering places. Most of all, the managers showed that they cared about the guests and the hotel. We had a great experience, and would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for a family event as we stay in the Best Western Plus hotels frequently when we travel. This is a newer hotel, but unfortunately we won't be back. I attempted to call the hotel directly several times before our arrival as we needed to request a change. No one ever answered the phone and I let it ring forever each time I called! I called the 800 number for reservations and they also could not get thru. They did call me back later that day to let me know they had reached the hotel, but the hotel wouldn't approve a change unless I emailed them. I sent the email.....and no reply. The morning after our arrival while we had coffee, the front desk lady was on her phone with her speaker turned up watching video's that sounded inappropriate to say the least. The next morning, the front desk phone was ringing so loud and for long we joked with the other people at breakfast that maybe we should answer. The front desk lady didn't answer as she was once again on her cell walking around the lobby. She did actually call the room back (we could hear her) and asked them why they were calling 911!!! Apparently if you dial 911 from your hotel room, it rings to the front desk. Clearly don't call 911 here from your room phone. My guess is this is who was working on the days I called.
Decent breakfast. Heated pool was very cold. Check-in & Check-out staff were friendly. Cleaners were a little noisy blasting music in the hallway instead of using headphones. Air conditioner in room was extremely noisy and interrupted sleep often. 1.5 rolls of TP for 3 people. Probably would have been nice to have more.||||Decent breakfast options. Syrup for waffles tasted funny like it was spoiled. Eggs seemed too watery and packaged picante sauce tasted spoiled as well. ||
My room was spacious & clean. I especially enjoyed having a little sitting area with a table in front of the tv. The parking lot also had plenty of room, and I could see my car from my window. Breakfast selection was ample, though I would've liked some fresh fruit.|A little expensive overall, but a solid choice for a safe, comfortable place to rest.
This was an amazing place to have our marriage group meet for an enrichment weekend. The rooms were clean and beautiful. Our conference room was large and very convenient to get to. Service was amazing. The staff was wonderful to work with and very
I wanted to write a review solely to call out the excellent customer service I received from the night auditor, Brittany. I was in Coralville with my daughters and their friends so they could attend a local concert. The concert got delayed and then
Had a wonderful experience with this hotel in late November 2023. The hotel is right off of I-80 and has a restaurant, grocery store and gas station immediately nearby. Itâs also close to shopping. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the cu
