Best Western Plus City Line Hotel - Featured Reviews (96)
From the outside all indications are this a decent hotel. Rooms are updated with modern fixtures. Location, slightly off the beaten path, but otherwise within easy access of LGA and a decent walk to the subway. However, I was a little disappointed with my overall stay. ||The staff was very friendly, however the hotel rooms were slightly less than spotless. Noise was a slight problem, but was easily addressed. Beware the continental breakfast, as it was restricted to a locally catered meal. Advance notice would have been great on this front, also more background info on the caterer would have been great. This was a meal I easily skipped. Ice maker is in the basement, would have been nice to know before settling in the room. Fitness center was unavailable, looked to be under repair and cluttered. Overall lots of potential but needs a bit of polishing.
The rooms are nice maybe a bit small but clean and the beds are comfortable, parking is free at the hotel which isn't very common for this area and the subway is 4 blocks away so that is very nice. The breakfast area is nice although the selection is small and we didn't feel particularly safe walking back from the Subway at night. All in all a good experience.
Everything was fine. Clean room. They made the bed and took the trash every day, which was a huge plus for me. They also brought toiletries everyday. The receptionist welcomed us well. But there was no hot water at the sink but the bath tap did. Upon our arrival we asked the receptionist if there was parking and she said yes there was the front and a parking in the back, which was really good. We parked up front our whole stay. After checking out we went out to get the car and leave and we see a ticket, took it inside and they tell me it’s because I debt have a sticker and went ahead and told them my state doesn’t have a sticker. As reading the ticket I realize I got the ticket because there was street cleaning and it took it inside and the guy there was saying no it can’t be it because their cars where also there, which was a line because as we were leaving a bit far from the hotel it says no parking between 12am-3am on Tuesdays. The hotel should be mindful of that and tell guest not to park there Monday nights.
Was there for 2 nights. Great price for a last minute booking in New York and not wanting to pay $600+ a night. Rooms were nice and clean, took a while for the hot water to heat up in the shower. Walls are thin, very close to road so the noise is pretty loud. Would have given 5 stars but on the second night there was a group across the hall having a party at 3am and they would not stop yelling and playing music very loudly. The receptionist was very nice and did go and talk to them when I called in a noise complaint. Pretty decent overall.
The check-in was nice and the receptionist was very kind and upgraded us to a room with a larger bed. However, the room was facing the street hence very noisy. The room was clean and cleaned everyday. The tap in the sink was broken and in general the room and hotel in general could use an upgrade. It said it included breakfast but the first morning the breakfast was not available.
It was easy to get to Manhattan but the area was not nice and we did not feel comfortable.
December 2021- Room was surprisingly clean, small but nice. It takes couple minutes for water get hot. No breakfast, only like 8 slot of parking, snacks were cheap-that's a plus- Front desk didn't said a word on the 4 days I was there. Room cleaning personnel were very nice. Train to go anywhere is 8 minutes walking. Overall is a good place, I hope it's stay's like that.
While the cleanliness of the rooms and overall hotel were good the customer service was mediocre. The front desk were not friendly at all. Guest arriving after midnight were loud with no regard to other guest whom were already in bed. Hotel has no protocol for loud guests. The hot breakfast was a joke to say the least. Their idea of a complete hot breakfast was a doggie bag with a stale, cold egg sandwich (purchased from a near by bodega) and an apple. When I then asked for some orange juice (I don’t drink coffee or tea) the young man stated “go back to your room and make your own tea”. How rude! At that point, I questioned the misleading information on their website and reservations agent conversations regarding amenities. As I expected, no direct answer! Do not waste your time or money at this hotel if you want to enjoy your stay in NYC. P.S. If you are driving to this hotel be prepared to park outside on the street (if you find one) since their idea of parking for a hotel consist of 10 parking spaces in the back of the hotel with no signs to guide you! Terrible…. Save yourself some time and aggravation! Do not recommend this hotel and service at all!
The night attendant was terrible, very poor service. You should really train your employees to be more welcoming. The room was decent it was on the smaller side. The hallway was dirty when we go to our floor when we left for checkout there was a maid in the hallway cleaning out a room but the same trash for the night before still in the hallway. I was displeased the o my thing I liked was the softness of the bed
Everyone who works here is so nice and the hotel is very clean. My favorite part was the water fill station which seems like such a simple thing but it was nice being able to fill our reusable bottles whenever we needed to. Right by a subway station
We recently stayed at the Highbridge hotel. I canât see enough about how wonderful the staff is! The family feel at breakfast , to their accommodating. The manager even remembered my sonâs name, and we always felt very welcomed. Were very clean a
