Best Western Plus Bass Hotel & Suites - Featured Reviews (637)
Great location in Leeds, Alabama. We were in town for a few days looking for a new home over in Lincoln, and this place was convenient being right off the Interstate, and a friendly staff. There are plenty of places to eat around here. Milo's, Waffle House, and Logan's Roadhouse are highly recommended. Now, concerning this place, it's alright. It is a bit tired and worn down, and really needs to be updated. The beds are pretty meh and the mattresses need replacing. I must admit, though, that the place was pretty quiet. On the west side of the building, and south of the entrance, a huge piece of roof flashing is just blowing around and hanging on just barely. So be aware of that! I said something to the girl at the desk about it, and she said they've been trying to get someone there for a month to fix it. Really? I'll bet the City inspector could speed up that process! I'd give this stay more of a 3.5. But you round up if you don't have that option, right? Would we stay here again? Possibly, but probably not.
Stay was great waffle breakfast was great but I accidentally left a bag when we departed and was told It would be shipped back to me and it's been months. I've called half dozen times and was assured the matter was to be resolved and not to worry it was being shipped back to me. I even offered to cover whatever charges that brings. Still never saw the bag again and no email or calls back in my multiple follow up attempts. What's the problem ?
We got moved rooms 3 times because of a really strong mildew smell. You could still smell it in the 3rd room, but it wasn't as bad so we just stayed with it. We did inquire about getting our money back so we could go somewhere else, but the man said that he couldn't do it and would have to call the owner to come in. The hotel was really outdated, and the renovations they did try to do were shoddy at best. We stayed 3 nights, and the guy at the front desk never went home. He was there day and night. He was very nice thigh. The pool was disgusting. The water was really murky, and the whole area was filthy. We didn't dare to try and swim, which sucked because we had kids with us, and that was part of the reason we chose that hotel. And the icing on the cake.. We ended up leaving a night early without getting refunded because on our final night there, we realized they had a bedbug infestation. I will add that we had someone stay on the third floor who didn't notice anything. We were on the second floor. So it might not be the whole hotel. But our room definitely had them. I definitely would not recommend staying here, and if you do, ask if you can see your room before you put any money down because they will not refund you.
Having stayed in other BW, I was glad to stay at the one in Leeds, AL. The desk clerk was cordial though seemed a bit distracted by his pizza waiting on the desk. The room was clean as was the hallway (I do pay attention to little things) and the bed was comfortable. I was given a room with a handicap shower which in itself was okay but the shower kept leaking out onto the restroom floor even after the water was shut off and I'd wiped the floors dry. Also, the hair dryer was missing, so be sure to bring your own just in case. All in all it was a nice stay with a comfortable sleep.
Assigned room’s refrigerator not working and had mold in it. TV remote needed new batteries. Got different room and HVAC unit not working. Attendant arrived fairly quickly. Fuse breaker needed to be reset and then it worked fine. Room was clean and hotel quiet. |Staff at front desk buried in phones and no interest in welcoming guests. Find something better.
My room had an extremely bad urine smell upon check in. I addressed the fron desk and Saud he would investigate. I went out for some dinner and returned. I asked if he investigated the situation and he said yes and said he sprayed something. After arriving in my room, nothing had changed. I gave up, because I was exhausted. I checked out at 6 am, not due to anything but the smell!
I spent the night here to avoid some storms up north. I chose this hotel because reviews said there was a hot tub and I've stayed in Best Westerns before and was generally happy with them. I arrived at about 11 pm and was given a dirty room key because they are re-using all the paper sleeves for the key cards over and over. I got to my room and could barely get the door latch to open. I had to shove on the door to get in. 3 lights switches, none worked. 2 tiny lamps and the one between the beds didn't work. Alarm clock didn't work. Room smelled weird. I told the clerk the outlet wasn't working and she made me switch rooms. The next room was funny smelling as well. I moved all my stuff to that room and then had to go back downstairs to give back the key to the first room because she acted like I was going to steal it when I was told I had to switch rooms. I should have known better about the place when the elevator felt like it was going to drop me back to the first floor when I first got in and after walking by everything in there with an out of order sign on it, even vending machines. I walked around a little and found the pool, no hot tub. Back to my room, dirty homemade luan plywood closet doors built by a 12 year old with staples sticking out an inch everywhere. There's a lawsuit waiting to happen. Ants crawling around the bathroom on the 2nd floor in the middle of the hotel. 1 bathroom light worked. Air conditioner took until about 3 am to actually cool off. The mattress was literally the cheapest, worst mattress I've ever laid on, and I live in a camper at the moment. It was angled so it tried to roll me off all night, no matter which side or way I laid. The pillows weren't full-size, they were like flat throw pillows and I needed 3 just to feel like I had something under my head. Didn't sleep one bit. Terrible place, will never go back.
This hotel has a known bedbug issue. The are active. When I confronted the Front desk he turn to the housekeeper and told her that 326 still has bedbugs. This is an older hotel that definitely needs to be cleaned and updated. The pool is gross and over chlorinated. The breakfast is mediocre. They did not charge me for the room but I would rather not have slept in a bed bug infested room.
What a collection! If you or someone you love, loves anything that has wheels on it, this is a must! My entire family was in awe with everything there! Brice, a new employee of 3 months couldnât rant more about how much he loved working there, and
Great food!!! Extremely nice server too. They were extremely understaffed but our server took good care of us. No alcohol served but the food was so good it makes up for the lack of drinks. I had the taco tour which was a mixture of 13 different taco
Gosh, there are so many wonderful things to say about this specific park. The veterans memorial was built to remember our warriors for our freedom. My uncle was the one who provided the input for this project. I've been several times with friends, pe
We live in Moody, we've never been here. Now my husband and I eat here all the time. This is a great place to eat true authentic Mexican cuisine. The fajitas come out to your table steaming and sizzling. The salsa and chips are our personal favorites
