My husband and I were very happy with our recent stay at this Best Western. The front desk staff were welcoming. We stayed three nights so we could tour the fall color in the area. I realize there are many young couples who may never have stayed in a one-story motel-style facility. The advantages are that the guest has a parking place right in front of the assigned room, making luggage unloading very easy. Also, there are no people above causing noise problems. |This facility has been owned and operated by the same family for 42 years. And, yes, we were there long enough to talk to the owner while having breakfast there one morning. |Their continental breakfast is better than many provided at hotels because the eggs are real. The kitchen staff kept the breakfast bar well stocked, and they were pleasant and helpful. |The bed and pillows worked well for us. The pillows gave enough support that my husband didn’t wake up with neck discomfort. And the bed covers were lighter and more manageable than what we have been seeing routinely in other hotel chains. A heavy down comforter isn’t always preferred but it has become the standard for many chains.|The Best Western also has a beautiful indoor pool and hot tub that we didn’t take time to use.
Staff friendliness, cleanliness / freshness of room and breakfast were all excellent and exceeded my expectations. This hotel is not fancy but it served my needs extremely well. It is less than 5 miles from Boyne Highlands and Nub's Nob Ski areas.
Hotel is very nice. Staff is awesome. Rooms are always very clean. Parking lot is kept clean and safe no matter how bad the weather is. I personally met the hotel owner, he and the staff always out the guests first.
I’m apprehensive to write this review because I feel like I found a hidden gem! We’ve always stayed in Petoskey at whatever hotel we could find, but most of them you’re finding the same thing… old buildings, uncomfy beds, thin walls, etc. This place absolutely blows those other motels out of the water. It is seemingly (a lot?) newer, beds were super comfy, bathrooms were nice, rooms were very clean, and the best of all was that was staff was INSANELY nice! So friendly, so kind. The breakfast was also shockingly robust for a continental breakfast…. Eggs, sausage, fresh waffles… I can’t say enough good things! Thank you Sarah & staff!
This was our third stay at this hotel. It never disappoints. The staff is friendly and helpful. The property is well maintained inside and out. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of parking. Some of the other area hotels are tired and worn. This hotel is always consistently great!
We stay here a week and the location was clean and well appointed. We stayed in suite. It had two full baths. There was a fireplace a in the living area that was nice for the chilly nights. Having a full size refrigerator and microwave were great as well. All the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and went above the call of duty.
Amazing service, literally everyone that worked there was so kind. The friend I stayed with is still talking about their continental breakfast, saying it’s the best they’ve had. It must be the love they prepared the food with. The rooms were clean, updated, and stylish. The shower was actually very aesthetic. BUT the BEDS. Obviously when staying at a hotel the beds are one of the most important aspects. The mattresses desperately need to be replaced. The are severely worn out, uncomfortable, and offer no support. Hopefully they will be replaced soon. Location of the hotel is very convenient for the state park.
Room had random sewer and moldy musty odors, the bedding was terrible, worse than hospital bedding, the pillows I think are left over throw pillows about the size of a chicklet, that gave 0 support. Also it backs up to an airport, not a hotel or staff issue but just be aware, and the road it is on has a lit of logging trucks.||The staff did call to see if everything was OK with the room 10 mins after we got into the room. We didn't smell anything then but the odors did waft in randomly. Overall this hotel reminds me of a 50s strip hotel that was renovated in the late 80s and then partially re-done in the 90s. If you are hunting or snowmobiling probably great, romantic weekend no.

Sat outside, was great weather! Food was delish! We ordered the Chicken Naan with Onion Rings, Woodward Sliders with Fries and Salad with Goat Cheese, Couscous, Pecans, etc. Gets pricey when you upgrade the sides and add on the CC processing fee,
Pretty good. First time. Could never afford the top end steak. Nice to dream though. Spaghetti and meatballs was very nice. A large portion. Cobb salad was excellent. Coffee was super. Blueberry pie ala mode was very tasty.
Great Chinese food. A very surprising find in Northern Michigan. The location was a bit small though, and we almost couldn't get a seat. I think it could also benefit from some more modern decor.
