Best Western Movie Manor - Hotel in Monte Vista - 2830 US-160, USA

A friend of ours, my wife, and I spent one night here. Our friend's first room hadn't been cleaned at all. The second room she got was better but not clean! One of our wash rags was either dirty or stained. So after all of this it was kind of hard to enjoy our stay here. The price isn't to bad and the breakfast was good.

It was very nice and a lil unique. The room numbers had famous actors or actress name right below the numbers. It was quiet. It wasn't even a planned stay. The employees there were very courteous, helpful and welcoming. There is a drive in right behind the building. We didn't see a show but they still used it. I'd make plans to stay a night...maybe when the drive in is open.

I had great stay. The rooms were spotless and service was top notch. We were in room 207 and could see the movie from our bed, what a great experience it was. The concession had SAMOSA, two types of chicken nuggets (regular and spicy) and kids enjoyed Pop Corn and drinks. Anytime we are in area we will be sure to stay only here.

I love staying at Best Westerns, but this is a new favorite for us. Who would of thought you could view a drive-in movie from your hotel room. Sound was excellent and it brought back some old memories of bygone days. Staff was really fantastic and the area is so peaceful. After a day of driving and then a movie, it was the end of a great day. Both of us slept like rocks.

First impressions are that you're going back in time, like back to the 70s. It's like 80% updated? But it still feels old. Lamps and alarm clock weren't plugged in so I moved the bed and plugged it in myself. The uniqueness of the drive-in was pretty cool but you're pretty far back so it's almost a better option to drive over there and watch from the car. The front desk worker was nice and friendly. Breakfast was a pretty typical hotel breakfast - nothing mind blowing but still solid. They have an oatmeal bar so that was different. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. Ultimately gave 4 stars due to the customer service.

Our trip out here started with a search for the most unusual Best Western in Colorado. We were able to coincide our trip with the migration of the cranes, which worked out perfectly. The hotel itself is a tad run down. The rooms have all amenities, but you can definitely tell it has not been updated for a while. Cleanliness wise, I would give it a three star, given that there were quite a few dusty areas in our room. The bedding was clean so that was a definite positive point. The shower did get clogged after a few minutes. Overall I’d say the hotel is overpriced for the standard offered. On the bright side: The rooms are spacious and do have perfect view of the movie screens and there’s an audio system in each room which syncs with the screening. There’s a fridge, coffee machine, and microwave in each room. The hotel is dog-friendly which we appreciated. The rooms where dogs are allowed do not have an ideal view of the screen, as you can’t lay in bed and watch but you can certainly sit and enjoy whatever’s on. The staff was very friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. The breakfast area was my personal favorite as its neatly layer out with big windows and a vista of the fields and mountain in the distance. Location wise it is a little bit out of town so you’d have to drive anywhere you needed to go to. There is a great Mexican place next door, easy option for meals if you did not want to drive. The bird sanctuary is a 15 min drive and the town itself is 5-10 min away so nothing to fret over. There’s ample parking, as a matter of fact there were many trucks with animal trailers, as well as a big lorry parked overnight. In the grand scheme of things, the options are a little bit limited for accommodations in Monte Vista, so depending on the needs of your travel you may have no other choice. Overall we had a good time and we’re able to watch the cranes flock!

No hot water was reported within minutes of checking in. The man ordered us to run it constantly until it got hot. 45 minutes later there was finally luke warm water. No offer to move us to a room that has hot water. We rented 2 rooms and i asked my niece if they had hot water, they said yes right away it gets super hot. Not ours! Day two I called and complained again. No offer to move us to another room... Instead of sending your maintenance man to pound in my door at 8am (with a no disturb sign up, is unprofessional!) Send him to the water heater location to fix the problem or MOVE us! Its not difficult. And last, I had to complain again to the front desk about our experience and she acted like ahe didnt care. I asked her if she was going to refund my room and she says " I can offer a small discount " that was even more of an insult! I told her because of how the staff is currently handling this, I, as a returning customer of over 10 years will NEVER come back ever again and will be disputing the ENTIRE amount on my credit card!

Upon checkin, we immediately compained about no hot water. The owner, advised us to run the water constantly for 45 minutes. This is unacceptable to ask us to wait this long knowing that other rooms have hot water right away. I know because we rented 2 rooms and I asked my niece of they had hot water they said yes.||||Not us! ||||2nd morning I call and complain again. No offer to move us to a room with hot water. ||Unacceptable if you cannot provide a basic need. Unacceptable that there was no offer of a refund or discount. I HAD TO ASK and she gave me a few dollars off. That was more of an insult offering a few dollers off after I asked for one. I also told her it was unacceptable they didnt offer to move us. She didnt care. She said talk to the owner, but hes not here right now... ||||I stay here twice a year for the last 10 years. Never again.||I will dispute my credit card for BOTH rooms 100%
