I spent a week in New York City with loads of sites to see. I've stayed at hotels in Manhattan that don't give easy access to your car, but I wanted somewhere this time that was close to the subway AND gave me convenient access to my car. This hotel was perfect for that with the on-site parking lot while also being just a short walk to the subway. The hotel itself was clean. The bed was fine. Breakfast was basic but absolutely fine and made it easy to fill up and get a quick start on the day. I'll definitely stay here the next time I'm in New York City.

The room was very clean, bathroom was adequate although in our room the toilet did not flush well. The staff were very courteous and helpful every day. The best amenity is the free parking with plenty of space even for larger cars. Also, the area is nice, you can walk to the subway, restaurants and bakeries that serve coffee. This is especially good because the "breakfast" was not worth visiting, the coffee seemed to be instant, although dispensed out of a machine. There was no fruit, there was yogurt dispensed out of a machine so the ingredients or nutritional information was not available. The toppings available for the yogurt was chocolate or crushed oreos. There were pastries, bread for toast, or pancakes. The "hot food" was sausage links that had a strange texture, almost like there was air injected to make them seem bigger. The eggs were some kind of machine generated disk, the center was yellow but the whole egg was a foamy consistency. Very strange. I would definitely return to this hotel due to it's location within walking distance of the Briarwood metro and restaurants within walking distance. Just don't plan to have breakfast there unless you usually have bread or muffins for breakfast.

My stay was great. I gave 4 for Service because I tried to extend my stay for two nights ( Saturday and Sunday) and had to cancel one because of the cost. The explanation given of being charged double for the weekend was questionable. I was told they had to cancel my existing reservation and book me as new; therefore resulting in being charged the higher price. Also, there was a high demand because of the US open.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and that is saying a lot. - Wifi does not work at all. Easy to connect, data is so slow you can't even load a single email or receive a basic text message. Pathetic. - Room keys don't work. They "fixed" it for me several times, but I am just trapped in my room. I cannot leave unless I want to risk not being able to get back in, and all my stuff is in the room. - Lights don't work. Light switch does NOTHING. I punched it real hard and the light sort of flickered. Then turned back off. - Phone doesn't work. Calling the front desk is like listening to the first ever call between Watson and Bell, but much worse audio quality. No clue whatsoever was said on that call. - TV is about 10 inches. Literally the TV Michael Scott had in The Office. I can't see it from the bed hardly at all. - Extremely noisy. Windows do not block ANY of the street noise. I am on the 2nd floor and I can hear people on the street talking. - No water other than tap water. There is nothing here. - Very dirty. Bathtub looks like someone just gave their dog a bath after it came in from mud wrestling. - Bed seems clean enough. So far. Nothing else here is clean.

I'm a New Yorker born and bred, so when I tell you New York has changed boy I'm not kidding! This is the first time I had to pay to stay at a hotel. Surprisingly with the city bring over crowded we had a difficult time locating a room ourselves. So we got a booking agent. She got a nice room at Best Western on Van Wyck. Room was clean and nice. Especially the bathroom. The receptionist was knowledgeable and pleasant. My only negative experience was the breakfast. It was unappealing and their wasn't good choices. Being this hotel is consider to be choice. I expect more. There was cereal, yogurt. Just Blah! Best Western needs to do a better job.

Has the basic essentials in a hotel. HOWEVER, each hotel room door shuts very loudly. This disturbed my sleep throughout the night. Also, the hotel puts the least amount of effort into the breakfast. For example, there were old pastries provided. The eggs did not look appetizing. The room rate did not match the experience I anticipated. I will look into another hotel near JFK next time.

Spent a couple nights here and was a bit nervous about bed bugs, but when we arrived the place was very clean with no signs of bugs. Staff were friendly, nice variety of good food for breakfast and it was nice to have parking so close. It was a bit noisy from the freeway but that is no fault of the hotel. Overall, I would recommend and return for future trips.

This hotel is not in the center of New York City, as it is in Queens, in the district Jamaica. But that center in Manhattan can be easily and quickly reached from the hotel via the close Queens Boulevard or Subway (F line). As importantly, the neighborhood of the hotel is a quiet, clean and absolutely safe area with a lot of restaurants -- where one can enjoy Japanese, Thai, Colombian, Peruvian, Italian and other ethnic food. The hotel itself is a very well maintained, clean and quiet place with impeccably maintained rooms. Its breakfast service deserves mentioning, as it is taken care of professionally with always great and enough food.
