Location good Room. Damp floors Asked for a top floor weeks before reservation placed. Then upon arriving, we ran into Shankar.... he was real helpful, almost. Excuses..... he gave away our room reservation. Given a bottom floor under an elephant 🐘 stomping around above us at 11pm - 2 am and 4 -6 am Yep. Great stay

This Best Western was in a good location off the main road. It was quiet and clean, very important features for me. The “free breakfast” was decent and there was lots to choose from. Make your own waffle, scrambled eggs, sausage patties,hot/cold cereal, fresh fruit, muffins, yogurt and more. They kept the food coming. The orange juice machine was broken though. They have an indoor pool which was fun for the kids. Overall good place and I’d stay here again.

We met my parents in Independence (2 rooms, 1 night) to attend a Yankees/Royals game. The rooms were clean. The beds were very comfortable... my husband usually has a hard time sleeping at hotels, and he even commented on the comfort of them. The pool is a little small, but was clean. The location to the stadium and many stores/restaurants is great! Overall, this was a great hotel for the value.

I had called the location before I booked a room. Asked specifically if there was a pool & a hot tub. Was told there was. I asked if they were both open and in working condition. Again was told yes. So I booked a room. Got to check in and was told there was no hot tub. It was too late to cancel and get a refund. The front desk agent told me I could use the tub in the room as a hot tub or the pool. I thought "perfect, it has a jacuzzi tub". I was wrong, it was a regular tub. How in the world do you use a swimming pool or a regular tub as a hot tub? I won't be staying again

Had stayed here a couple years ago when new so thought we'd try it again. Big mistake. Schedule a weekend of fun activities with family, including grandkids. Didn't get type of room requested upon arrival, we're told couldn't change because they were sold out on the second night of our stay? Five-year old wet bed first night, specifically told front desk and asked housekeeping to service room but when we returned from our days activities housekeeping had not come. Front desk was of little help, but did provide clean sheets. Asked for a new mattress cover we were told, after a manager was called, that they didnt have those (think about that if you stay). Best part of stay was breakfast bar, Ryan did an excellent job of checking and restocking a nice breakfast offering. Place needs more Ryans.

The hotel itself is above average in cleanliness and quality. But they definitely will not go out of their way to make it a memorable experience. The food was cold a majority of the time the things that were not had been sitting quite a while and more. Coffee was continually out. The plug-ins by the bed did not work. The pool was a great option for my grandkids when they came to visit me, but both times they were out of towels and we had to track some down. Rarely anyone sitting at the front desk you have to wait for them to come up and help you. Overall it was a good stay and serve its purpose, but definitely does not go above and beyond.

The double room was spacious. I liked the really huge, well lighted bathroom. Our 2nd floor room was quiet and comfortable. The small breakfast room was busy when we were there and they ran out of waffle mix. I love waffles... next time. Desk guy was nice and answered all our questions patiently.

We stayed here for a wedding and were very disappointed. It’s advertised as smoking free, which is important to us as I was 32 weeks pregnant at the time of our stay. We walk into our room and it smells heavily of cigarette smoke. We alert the front desk and ask for a new room. They don’t have another and all nearby hotels were booked, so we had to stay. They gave us an ozone machine and told us to run it in our room and bring it back. They did not mention that it is dangerous to be in the room with an ozone machine, which we realized when we both became very lightheaded and ill. The machine didn’t even work properly. The manager promised us 20% off our stay and then neglected to actually refund any of our stay as promised, despite us calling multiple times over the coming weeks requesting the promised refund amount. However, they did call us back to ask us “where we left the ozone machine.” We would not recommend this hotel as it is not properly maintained and guests are not properly cared for.
