Best Western Holiday Lodge - Hotel in Clear Lake - 2023 7th Ave N, USA

Very clean hotel and the continental breakfast was wonderful! It offered warm breakfast and cereal, muffins, hard boiled eggs, etc! The pool was clean and was being used while we stayed there. Front desk provided additional shampoo and lotion as needed. Bed and pillows were very comfortable! I would definitely stay again. Close to downtown and beautiful Clear Lake and also close to Mason City which has many department stores, places to eat! Also, this is the sight for the plan crash of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and Big Bopper, so something cool to go visit., and take in a little history!

This is an older, well constructed (concrete and CMU) building that has been modernized and is totally up to date, style-wise and function-wise. Our room was fresh smelling, properly organized and equipped, and had a very comfy bed. The entire building was very clean, even little things like return air registers in the ceiling were dust bunny free. Staff was helpful, friendly and efficient. Hotel provides a coupon for a free drink at the adjoining Bennigan's cafe. We had a very good stay.

Our son and daughter-in-law had their wedding reception at the Clear Lake Best Western. The staff helped us with anything we needed. The event coordinator (Mandy❤️) kept us informed and was very patient and organized. ||The head chef, Michael, was so talented and hard working and definitely knows his way around a kitchen. Amazing man with a ton of talent ! The chicken and spaghetti were so delicious! Kudos to his kitchen staff. Sorry I don’t know all your names. ||Housekeeping, bartenders, support staff….all top notch and made our event run so smoothly. Communication was great. Rehearsal dinner, wedding meal, and breakfast/gift opening the next morning…all food and set up with cloth napkins, beautiful place settings, etc. just all top rated. ||||The event coordinator even turned on all our decorative lights(there were a lot of them!) right before we arrived from the wedding. The staff went beyond to make the day/weekend special. ||||||

It was a good experience, and a great value. The room was clean and attention to details. They have the amenities to help you stay on site after a long day. Check in was fast and friendly staff.

The cleanliness of this hotel was beyond disappointing. The odor in our room was not tolerable. We were moved to another room by the very nice staff, but when I say the smell was awful, I mean gag awful. It also stuck on all of our items. We can’t get the smell out of our luggage so we have to buy all new suitcases which are not cheap. We checked out after the first night which unfortunately cut our family vacation short, but we couldn’t stay there another day. ||

We stayed at the Best Western for a family trip over the 4th. We stayed in the out building of the hotel. We were awoken in the night to a train blasting their horn nearby. Unfortunately, in the morning we found a dead cockroach in the bedding shortly before we checked out. When my husband reported the issue at check out- the staff seemed unsurprised and made a joke about it. We were not offered any sort of discount or refund. For the price of the room, I would have expected a roach free stay.

Thanks Anna, I am having a great night sleep in the ashtray. I specifically requested a nonsmoking room, so you gave me the room that only smelled like an old ashtray. GREAT JOB, can’t wait to come back! 🤮🤢

Best staff best housekeeping. I’m blown away by the obvious exceptional leadership at this hotel. Here for work and amazed how well this place is run. Maybe not the best for vacation but pool is clean and well kept. Perfect for work or for a vacation stop by point.
