The front lobby smelled horrible and could smell it all the way in the parking lot. They used way to many cheap plug-ins. Despite a very slow check-in process, it went smoothly. Breakfast was nice and had a wonderful lady working there. She was very helpful and kind. There is no hot tub despite some pictures showing one. You can see where they covered it up. Yes chose it because the travel site I looked at showed a hot tub. Figured it would make the higher than I like to pay price tag worth it. My wedding ring was stolen from the room while we were out. Yes I should have hidden it better but honestly figured this was a higher class hotel. Have yet to hear anything from management regarding this incident ... no apology, no acknowledgement that something bad happened, no empathy ... not a peep. Check-out again was slow but smooth. Wanted a receipt for my records and wanted to check to see if by chance the person who took my ring magically turned it in. Hopefully karma gives that individual a nice kick in the rump throughout 2024. The room was nice and clean. The larger mini fridge, microwave and extra towels are really nice.
I am surprised that this is a Best Western property. It is a vast contrast to their other properties that I have stayed at. The location is great but that is all that is good about it. I travel a lot and I try to stay within an amount to be sure to get a hotel that would be decent. This hotel had the worst bed I have had to sleep on. The mini-fridge almost fell over every time I opened it. The staff were on their phones a lot. The breakfast was a mess and they clearly need more staff to help with it. The towels and wash clothes were so thin it was like they got them from the Dollar store. I can only assume that this was once a Very Cheap motel that Best Western bought but did not put the money into it to bring it up to date. I would NOT recommend this place.
This hotel in Florida City was a great central location for exploring Biscayne and Everglades National Parks, as well as getting down to the Keys. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was well stocked with hot, cold, and convenient grab n go items. My only suggestions would be to replace the spring beds with memory foam and bring back the hot tub!
Positive: They hotel is amazing overall the cleanliness is what keeps me happy, the staff is very friendly. Great job to the hotel manager. Negative: The only thing I dislike is the same breakfast everyday. I feel like it should be a variety of hot food other than eggs & sausage.
The toilet overflowed the 1st time we used it. Our room phone did not work so I had to call the front desk on my cell for assistance. I was told to come down & get the plunger. When I asked about someone coming to clean up the floor, I was told I'd have to clean it up myself. I was told I'd have to go buy cleaning supplies because I couldn't use their guest towels for toilet water.
I called Best Western Customer Relations and was told there wasn't anything they could do for us until we spoke to the manager- who wasn't there. We booked a room at another hotel and when we told the front desk girls we were leaving - they laughed at us!! I was shocked at this type of treatment!! They didn't call maintenance. They didn't offer to move us to another room. Shocked!
Note to the Manager:
The maintenance man was never called. We were told we had to get the plunger and to go buy cleaning supplies. We were there 2 hours and only sat on top of the beds. We didn't shower - we used the bathroom once and it overflowed! Those girls at the front desk were SO rude and laughed at us.
Staff were courteous, especially the employees serving the breakfast bar. Room was clean. When we registered we were given complimentary water and bag of chips as we were Best Western Members. The breakfast was very good.
We stayed a total of 3 nights at this hotel. Very clean and I loved that the rooms have parquet floors rather than carpets. Cute seating area around the outside pool. Good breakfast and pleasant staff.
Recent trip to the Keys, August 2023, We reserved two rooms. When we arrived, was told that we only had one. I showed my booking receipt. Problem solved. Got our rooms. Nothing special but a little musty smell that we had to deal with. The next morning, we left for Key West. We returned around 10pm or so only to find our room and personal things were cleaned out and gone. Went to the office and we were told that we only had the room for one night. Again, showed booking receipt. Problem solved. Now, where is our things!!?? The answer we got? Our cleaning crew must have gotten rid of it because they thought you were not coming back. No further coherent conversation from the desk help from that point on. Left our number for district manager to call me, but that never happened.
We were not really out much money from the missing things, but because of the violation and theft, we did not feel safe staying our second night (of which was paid for). And they would not give us a refund when we decided to leave and drive to our next hotel earlier.
Not happy with this Best Western and won’t recommend this place to anyone.

We occasionally find this paradise of sweets on our journey to the Everglades. The best key lime pie we ever had. The original and guava flavor are the best while the rest are also delicious. It should be on the must-go list for every South Florida v

We came for breakfast and really enjoyed everything that we ordered (coffee, eggs, sausages, home fries, French toast, omelette, and steak+eggs).
They have so many seafood options and Iâd love to come back and try their lunch and dinner offerings.
I visited Top Taste Jamaican Restaurant on my way to Key West and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the food. The jerk chicken was tender and flavorful, the rice and peas were cooked to perfection, and the plantains were sweet
