Best Western Clearlake Plaza - Hotel in Springfield - 3440 E Clear Lake Ave, USA

Location was on the way for our travels. We stayed at Best Western’s the previous two nights which were very nice. This one not so much. The night manager was very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately our room was very obviously dirty. There were pieces of white things (tp or tissue or something) all over the carpet (which also was VERY old and dirty. The toilet definitely hadn’t been scrubbed in a while. There was something that looked like a dried booger in the tub (TMI, I know). Not sure what else to say…… The hotel definitely could use some quality control in the housekeeping department. Again though…. A+ for the friendly night manager.

The hotel was okay overall. The rooms need new carpet, the breakfast was a pretty standard continental, the rooms were not as clean as I would have liked, and the mattress needs to be replaced. We found the beds too hard and uncomfortable. The indoor pool was great! The staff, especially the housekeepers, were extremely friendly and welcoming. The two ladies we encountered were so friendly and one of them left us the sweetest note!

The room was big and spacious it was well as clean. The breakfast tasty but average. Less food than other Best Westerns. The assistant manager and owners did not know how to redeem the promotional gift card from the program that Best Western began at the end of May. They did figure it out but it took a considerable amount of time.

I just needed a bed to sleep a few hours and a shower when I booked this and I wouldn't recommend even for that. The room I was given was obviously once a smoking room. The room was musty moldy smelling. Under the heat/ac unit the carpet was soaked. The worst part was when I got into bed, the bed was made but the sheets weren't changed from last time. There was a bunch of hair all over between the sheets. This place needs a full remodel and update just to call it a minimal hotel. You can still see the yellow smoke residuals on the walls

The good: It is very convenient to downtown springfield. Staff is welcoming. Wifi is strong and tv reception decent. The bad: Bathroom was in very rough shape, the door was very thin, the room had a weird smell. Lighting in the parking lot was too scanty.

I've stayed in worse. Spacious king room that felt clean. The bad sink pressure, faulty thermostat, and overly soft mattress leads me to believe it may be time for some renovations. Shower was nice and the complimentary breakfast was tasty.

Worst Best Western I've stayed in. This place really needs to update and clean put the mold. The first room we got(124) stunk horribly, and the AC wouldn't stay on. Then she moved us next door to 122, still a terrible smell, it was musty/disgusting, I don't know what. There was mold on the upper walls and cieling of the bathroom. The chair had mold on it as well. The old rotten carpet needs to be removed. To charge $144 for this room is a true rip-off! And to top it off, their ice machine was broken.. Must only have one.

It was a very good motel. Very comfortable beds, nice TV and reception. Nice to have a sleep timer on the tv remote. Enjoyed the grab bars in the shower. Needs to have a handicap height toilet though!
