The room I had was clean and comfortable, although a bit austere. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was large. |The check-in here saw me speaking into a machine similar to an ATM to men overseas on screen, and my credit card was accepted by placing it into a slot, drivers license onto a scanner. The men on screen were friendly. I was, however, never informed about the free continental breakfast that I missed. All in all a good place to stay, no bells and whistles.

Remote check-in was easier than feared. Person on other side of the screen was very helpful and fast. Nothing to complain here. Room had a decent size, was clean and updated and head a pretty big shower.

I booked online, 2 rooms for 1 night paid up front. Surprise! I leave to see on my email receipt that I have been charged $162.98 USD extra for TAX RECOVERY CHARGES! The check in was a kiosk virtual, no human. Didn't give receipt on checkout. Staff I found could not speak English. Virtual person could not help. Multiple phone calls have been given the run around. DON"T BOOK with HOTEL VALUES.COM Nice view of Homeless people living under bridge of the freeway. When I was able to speak to hotel he insisted I wasn't overcharged.

The hotel looked as though it had gone through a redneck rehab - bad paint, bad patch jobs, curved walls, etc. Virtual check-in sucks. Had a guest before me using the kiosk to check in and the person on the screen could not seem to get him checked in. Took over 20 minutes. When I finally got to my turn, I had a reservation and it still took almost 20 minutes to check in. Come back to room after dinner to have a hot shower, and no hot water! Tried one number never picked up. Second number I found off the booking.com site and finally picked up. They sent up "housekeeping," which was a young, pregnant hispanic girl who could speak no English, to basically stick her hand under the faucet and then call somebody. The person on the girl's phone offered me another room, but it was too late at that point, since I had a very early wake up and had to get to sleep. When I asked about a discount or refund of some kind, I was told to take it up with the person on the kiosk in the morning. When I checked out, that person had no idea what I was talking about and said I could wait later in the morning to talk to a manager. I said "No" and walked out without any resolvement.

Check in kiosk is a joke. . . Why pay $$$ when you don’t get to see a physical human. . . Just someone on a screen. Makes traveling more stressful. Part of staying at a hotel is the staff and being greeted making the stay more welcoming, and having a more HOSPITAL environment. . . Not going to happen when there is no live person behind the counter. What if I need a new clean towel, or what if I want additional blankets.. . . Recommendations on things to do and places to go in the area??? Someone in India cannot give me those recommendations. . .

The hallways smell horrific, the room A/C sounded like a truck was inside the room every time it turned on and I saw three baby roaches in just a one night stay. Don’t dare to tell the hotel (virtual staff named Alex) about it, all he will say is sorry and how good their reviews are from others.

Check-in was done with a virtual agent by video, and was very time consuming. I had to wait in line for the previous customer, whose transaction to obtain 3 rooms took him 1.5 hours. I had to wait 0.5 hours myself, just to check in. This inefficiency is unacceptable.
