Best Western Big Country Inn - Hotel in Coalinga - 25020 W Dorris Ave, USA

It was so nice to arrive here after a long drive and being greeted at the front desk. Thanks for the snack. And then we were greeted by the cat family on the grounds. Fun to watch the kittens frolic in the evening. Appreciated that the pool was open late(traveling during a heatwave) and I was able to take a dip. Room was good and very quiet.

Our room was clean but had an overpowering chemical smell, like carpet fresh, febreeze, glade plugs-ins, or the like. This smell triggered a horrible migraine and my throat & lungs are so irritated they burn! I asked for a different room but they said they were all the same. I tried sleeping in my car so I could breathe but that was too uncomfortable. So I ended up sleeping in the bathtub with the bathroom door closed and the fan on. It was miserable! Even our clothes now smell like that room. Thankful our stay was only one night. |I wish motels would be more considerate & mindful of air quality. There are a lot of people who are affected by these toxic smells. It is possible to clean & disinfect rooms without the toxic smell. |Lung health is important. After this experience we will no longer be staying at the Beat Western franchise.||Best Western, you can do better!!

This location was an absolute save. Perfect timing as I was passing by this area heading towards San Francisco to a hotel that I had prepaid for only to get told they do not have truck parking. ( yes checked and communicated with staff two days before paying , having them assure me they had semi parking , and had the answer change to “full parking lot, cannot fit semi, last minute ) I called this location and was told they had truck parking in the rear. Plenty of space to park a tractor trailer as well as other commercial vehicles in the back, newer drivers I recommend taking it slow pulling in and you will be just fine. Keep a safe distance from the check in pavilion. Arrived very late Friday 05.03.24, late check-in, front desk was very friendly and welcoming, didn’t catch her name unfortunately. If you’re here more than a few days, there is a Walmart in Hanford, California about 30 Minutes away. Plenty of restaurants in the immediate area, Denny’s next-door, alcohol right across the street even a McDonald’s for morning breakfast. I would like to recognize Abby for her extreme level of customer service and going out of her way for me as a guest. Very cozy first floor property and no issues with the cleanliness of the rooms, Super comfortable beds, cold, refrigerators, microwave, and ice machine is located next to the pool just outside of the front office. I look forward to my next stay at this property. Best Western did a phenomenal job with the upkeep of this hotel. A true gem

I have nothing but nice things to say about my visit here. The room was very large, almost oversized. It was clean, it was quiet. The bed was very comfortable. I slept 10 uninterrupted hours after driving 800 miles yesterday. Denny's restaurant is right next door allowing me to easily get back on the road. I stopped there for dinner, and then breakfast. The man at the counter was very nice. It appeared to me that truckers frequented this place because of how nice and convenient this stop was. It is not a typical hot but rather a collection of small apartments grouped in separate buildings. The room had all I needed; a fridge, microwave, hairdryer, soaps, TV, controllable thermostat, clock, room darkening curtains, iron and ironing board, and coffee maker. I would gladly stop here again.

Love the hotel stayed 3+ times always great! Large clean room great accomidations all around.

Starting at the front desk we were greeted with kindness. The lady was so welcoming and professional. We went in our room and it was more than we expected. Very clean and had a coffee maker! Keep up the good work and we'll be staying with you again soon!!

Wonderful greeting at reception and checking in was easy. I didn't have my rewards card with me, but the receptionist looked it up and even printed it out for me. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was great. Nice also having a restaurant next door so no need to get back into the car for dinner. Perfect!

Very clean rooms with comfortable beds and hotel has even kept water bottles in refrigerator. Surprisingly refrigerator had fully functional freezer. Also very hot breakfast which is well stocked and refilled even just a few minutes before the 9 am.
