Delicious food, great attitude, cute outdoor patio—my idea of a wonderful cafe! Loved the waffle with the fresh strawberries, and my kid devoured his sandwich. Definitely coming back soon.
My friend and I decided to visit Berry Pike Cafe for a quick bite, and what an incredible experience it turned out to be! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance struck a perfect balance between cozy and chic, creating an inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The standout of the night was undoubtedly the bagel sandwich I ordered. It was delicious, with every ingredient tasting fresh and well-prepared. My friend echoed the sentiment with his choice, and we both agreed that the food here is something special. What truly set our experience apart was the service. It was outstanding in every sense of the word. The staff, especially the manager, displayed exceptional hospitality. They were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring we had everything we needed. As the evening progressed, we lost track of time, engrossed in conversation and the lovely setting. Despite the fact that we lingered almost until closing time, we never felt rushed or unwelcome. The manager was kind enough to let us stay without making us feel like we were imposing, which speaks volumes about the customer service here. Berry Pike Cafe is a gem of a place. It's not just the food or the decor, but the people who make it a memorable experience. I'll definitely be returning and recommending this cafe to friends and family for a delightful time!
Not sure what "meat" was on my sandwich. That was some gelatenous substance. The sprouts were a soggy mess. What is that sad avocado?
Blah! I ordered a waffle - they have no syrup. I ordered scrambled eggs and got 2 flat strips of scrambled eggs with zero taste. I ordered a coke which they did not ring up, so I had to go back to the counter and try to get the guy (who didn’t speak much English to understand I wanted a coke. Maybe the fountain drink machine was broken because he only offered me a can of bottle. The overcooked egg leather strips were tasteless. There was no salt on the table and I didn’t ask the guy because getting the coke was so dang difficult. The dry waffle was also pretty dry and tasteless. All this for an overly inflated price. The only positive thing I can say is the place was cute with some outdoor seating. I will not be returning.
I initially walked into the cafe across the street as it was the closest via google maps to me. It was crowded with no seating. I immediately walked out, saw this place was open, and so happy that it was!! The atmosphere is calm, has good seating, and wifi- perfect for working. Regarding the food- I am surprised by some of the other negative reviews. First of all the people who work here were very nice. I ordered a large iced coffee that was a good price, 20oz, and tasted good. I ordered the Black Belt sandwich which ended up being so good and I would 100% come back here for more. In my opinion they have a lot of beverage and food options for being a cafe. I definitely have my eye on other menu items that I will try next time. This will be my go to place in the area now 👍🏼
Ok food, terrible coffee. Had the waffle, decent but nothing spectacular. Food is served on cheap paper plates and plastic silverware which makes it feel like you are getting food from a school cafeteria however employees were very nice. The coffee tasted like cheap instant coffee it was highly acidic, sour, with notes of black tar. Interior is not relaxing, with a amateurish and cheeky motif but with no consistent theme. Bathroom was in bad condition. Probably won’t go back
I visit Berry Pike almost every weekend… it’s probably my favorite establishment in all of Evanston. From their Rhonda on the Fly bagel, smoothies, chai latte, and of course their waffels, I’ve never ordered something and disliked it. Everything here is made with care and it’s a very personable business. I’ve only ever been treated with kindness and respect. I recommend Berry Pike to everyone I know, I love it that much. If you find yourself in the area you should check them out!!
Here has my fav latte. Two more clients come in and ordered latte this morning so I guess it’s really great. I was here two years ago and I feel things changed much, from the furniture arrangement to the way they present food(used to be glass, now disposable cups). Taste didn’t change much
