Bernardo Mountain Summit Trail - Access Road - Hiking area in Escondido - , USA

Overall it’s a fun and not too difficult place to hike or mountain bike. The first bit of the trail is paved and near the freeway, but after a while it changes to a dirt path and the sound of cars goes away. There are several different trails to go on, depending on how far you’d like to go. There are tables and benches along some parts of the trail, making it easy to take a break or have a picnic. There trail was also kept fairly clean.

Great hike and easy access! 1.5 miles from I 15. Beautiful views 😍 Not crowded.

It's about a 5 mile round trip but well worth it for the spectacular views of Lake Hodges and the surrounding areas. If the air is clear, you can also see the ocean. Flowers in the spring. No shade anywhere so in the summer plan accordingly.

It's a great hike... lots of up hill spots some level areas and finally the rock peak. It's a good 8 mi round trip from the san diquieto trail head by the Adobe house.

Great hiking area in the San Bernado Valley, a lot of bikes and there are other parking areas nearby.

Totally enjoy the trails and the lake views. Plenty of different Trails to explore. This is one of my favorite places to hike and Mountain Bike.

Been wanting to do this hike for awhile now. Drive past it all the time and finally got the chance. The views don't disappoint!

A great morning or early evening walks. Don't be afraid to say good morning to fellow hikers or bike riders. If you are stressed out from work and need a couple hours with nature. This is the trail for you.
