The food here is delicious, thanks to the chef's good sense of taste. We had the Club Sandwich, Buffalo Chicken Sliders, and Caesar salad. All of them were delicious and showed the chef's skill. We arrived at the restaurant around 3 p.m., so there were plenty of empty tables. The atmosphere was homey and relaxed, with regular customers enjoying themselves.😊✨ (Although we arrived too early to catch happy hour,) happy hour starts at 4 p.m., which is a great time to enjoy drinks and food at reasonable prices. (As we were leaving,) as soon as it turned 4 p.m., the restaurant filled up quickly. My husband is currently abstaining from alcohol, so we stuck to diet cola and lemonade. But when he's allowed to drink again, I'm looking forward to enjoying beer and cocktails.🍺🍸
Was looking for a place to get a quick lunch on a weekday and sit outside, and this place was perfect for that, not too crowded and had several tables for outdoor seating. The food was really good and fresh. We got tater tots, salad, and coconut curry with rice soup. The tots were crispy, just how we like them, but the coconut curry was our favorite thing we ordered. Highly recommend, especially if you are on your lunch break on a weekday. ------------ Update: I just got my credit card statement, and they added a dollar to what I had agreed to pay. If you do decide to dine here, make sure you pay cash or take a picture of your receipt and then check that it is the same when you get the statement. I am changing my rating to 1 star because they are unethical. (The food was still good, so that 5-star rating remains.) ------------ Update again: Saw a credit on my credit card statement from this place, which was really nice, and I didn't even have to call. For that, and the very kind and professional reply, I am reinstating the 5-star review!
I joined my friends here for a late lunch/snack and was impressed with the quality of service provided, especially when it was only one person running the bar. Our server/ bartender was super friendly and attentive to our needs. The refill of beverages was consistent, and she also made sure we had everything we needed. The food is your typical bar food, with some of the items being of better quality and prepared well.
Absolutely awful employee. I work construction and at lunch a crew of five of us take our lunch break. I was the only one of us to bring a lunch from home. We all sat down and started chatting ready to order, when a very aggressive although extremely feminine male bar maid saw my lunch pale. He Rudely threw his arms down at me and said “No,no,no not in here. No outside food in here.” I honestly thought he was messing with me, I mean just having lunch with my co-workers. So I looked at him/her/they and said “really?” Then he very aggressively got in my face as I was putting my lunch away to leave and just kept taunting me as if he wanted to fight. I was not putting my food away slow or anything and he was immediately all up in my face being extremely rude and honest to God aggressive. I considered that I might have to fight or wrestle this guy down and hold him until he calmed down. Nothing physical ended up happening but it sure seemed like he want to loose a fight real quick. I get it, a little unusual to eat your own lunch at a restaurant, but I was in a group of five , four other construction workers ordering lunch, I just wanted to chat with them on our break. I have been doing this my whole career, I almost always pack a lunch rather than eat out. This was the only time it was a problem To eat it with company. He simply could have been polite, maybe ask nice and move on. Now I have to write the first review I have ever wrote. I usually don’t sweat the small stuff, but this employee was so out of line I felt the need to inform as many of the public as possible. For whom it may concern. I currently work on a rather large construction site right up the road from this pub. I have been at this site for about a year and never heard of Berkeley’s until today. Me and about 100 other construction workers all eat lunch five days a week a few blocks away. I pack my lunch about %50 of the time but am often searching with my co workers for the new lunch spot. Had my experience not been so terrible because of this one employee I Guarantee I would have been back if the food looked even decent. I did not get to see the food because I was kicked out. Not to mention, we were the only table seated at the large empty restaurant. Business is booming, I understand running a restaurant is a super easy business venture only %90 fail. Good idea to shue away customers. Anyway there are 10 portable bathrooms on the jobsite. This job is probably close to 2 years before completion. In every one of the portable Johns there is now a sign warning people about the bar on the corner Berkeley’s. Unless you want to be in the pota pot all week long stay away from Berkeleys, entire crew with food poisoning. Learn how to act right. You’re in the service business, use some humility. Idiot..
This spot is truly a hidden gem!! We happened to stumble upon Berkeley's on a Saturday night after being met with a significant wait time at our originally planned destination. Since this place is in somewhat of a strip mall we were very skeptical at first but once we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised! It was very clean, not too busy at the time, and felt very welcoming. As we sat down, we were immediately greeted by Mo who presented us with menus. She was extremely friendly, helpful and answered any questions we had about the menu since it was our first time in. The service was great and the amount of TVs ensure you won't miss any of the big match ups. The food was delicious and I highly recommend their street tacos, if street tacos are your jam. 🌮 Overall, this is a great spot to catch a game or have a beer or two with family and friends. Not only is it named after a dog (I'm a softy for dogs), the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere really top it off. I will be returning any time I find myself in the area 🤗
I was in search of a weekday lunch spot with outdoor seating, and this place happened to fit the bill perfectly. It wasn't overly crowded, and they had multiple tables available outside. The food was absolutely delightful and tasted incredibly fresh. Our order consisted of tater tots, salad, and coconut curry with rice soup. The tots were wonderfully crispy, exactly how we prefer them, but the coconut curry stole the show as our favorite dish. I highly recommend this place, especially if you're looking to grab a quick bite during your weekday lunch break.
Ok...so 5 stars overall, but no 5 stars on subcategories. I know it's confusing. Allow me to explain. Food: it's not Ruth's Chris or El Gaucho. It's good and greasy bar food with a really limited selection. The happy hour wings, quesadilla, and Carne nachos are really good. All this is worth 3 stars but contributes to an overall 5 stars because it works well for this place and is the right business decision. Service: it's busy and the staff has difficulty keeping up. They're sweating to keep you happy. There could be an additional person on staff on football nights...for sure. Atmosphere: it's crazy loud on football nights. Such a great energy. People come in jerseys, poke the opposing team's fans, but always respectfully. If you can't handle the 'heat', there are tables outside year round, under a covered overhang. The owner is around on many days. Regulars are a plenty and will invade your space and make you engage. Layout and tables make it conducive to a fun evening for you! There's a small VLT space and I think that's a detriment, but maybe it was the best use of that odd space? All of those things in combination make this a 5-star place. I look forward to going back each time...but you gotta be expecting the vibe described or else this place can be a fast turn-off.
Great food. A step above regular bar food. Decent size menu and good drinks.
