Fantastic visit there. The Wassamassaw Indian Festival was going on that day was great visit . I hope to go back to many more festivals there. The museum was very impressive too.
An impressive place to visit. The museum is filled with historical information and artifacts and well laid out to cover the different eras. I appreciate the inclusion of the African American presence in the exhibits. There's a section dedicated to Maude Callen a nurse and midwife that provided much needed medical care to the area residents. The museum also had information on the Black Dragoons a military unit of Black soldiers from South Carolina that fought with the British. There's also a section to recognize Felix Ferguson a local soldier who served during World War One. This is must see if you are in the area. My family and I enjoyed it and left educated on the significant contributions of South Carolinians in history.
It was small but informative. There are lots of interesting displays.
Loads of stuff to do here, bring your walking shoes, just a gorgeous place

Beautiful grounds friendly staff and lots of interesting artifacts including bones.
Great nature trails and a very interesting little museum. It was a state park but in 1999 it was about to be closed because of budget cuts. The Santee Cooper company took over running the park. You can rent canoes and paddle through the beautiful creek area.

My time at the monastery this week was grand!!! I did not audibly pray the entire stay. No worship music (except an hour the final day before 7p). No sounds of nature to soothe me into sleep when I was restless. I wanted to get all my stuff "purely"
Beautiful park with walking trails and a canoe tour! We did the self-guided boat tour and it was wonderful! It took about 45 minutes and the âswampâ was easy to navigate with the markings on the cypress trees. The reptile/amphibian habitat house
It's a nice place with lots of mostly smooth level trails. They have a really nice interactive center and with live animals, a theater, and a boardwalk with canoe rental. It's got nice hiking trails, and the museum is nice. Some things in the museum

Paiges is always a great option. The food is always yummy and fresh. The service is fast and reliable and the outdoor seating area is nice on a sunny day.
