Benihana - Japanese restaurant in Lombard - 747 E Butterfield Rd, USA

Its a nice place yet I expected a better attention to service, food textures flavors, explanations of the dining experience and process. show by the cooking chef was a 5⭐️ Food 4⭐️ Service 2 ⭐️ Will I come back yes yet only to bring someone for the experience. I will try other locations to experience it again.

Such a fun place for dinner! Everyone in my family had been except my five-year-old and I. I had no idea what to expect. My five-year-old got a cute little hat. There was lots of staff to talk you through the experience. We got a giant margarita ($55!) And a five-course meal. All in all it was a touch more expensive than I thought it would be, but it was a fun time

Food was amazing, and so was the service. We will definitely be back.

It was a friends pick to go to Benihana for lunch. I haven’t been here in over 15+ years so I don’t quite know what to expect. Dolly welcomed us and was very accommodating when I asked her for a booth vs group seating. The Lunch menu had plenty of selection to choose from including shrimp, chicken breast, steak, veggies or scallops and vegetable fried rice. We ordered chicken fried rice which is $1 more per entree. Lunch came with soup and sautéed vegetables. The salad was additional and you can’t substitute the soup for the salad. The onion soup was good but they put fried onion straws IN the broth so it’s like you’re eating soggy breaded onions with the broth. The salad still has their signature ginger dressing which they make very well here. Nice, chilled and delicious! Entrees came and were nicely plated but we had to wait a bit for the fried rice. I’m not sure why they didn’t just put the rice on the plate with our food? It would have been a much better presentation. When the rice finally did come, we just dumped it in the middle of our plates. It was pretty good too. The 6 shrimp had a good flavor. Steak teriyaki was a little chewy but the sauce was flavorful. Lunch specials portions were good but I wouldn’t recommend dinner here. Restaurant was clean but needs some updating.

We had a terrible experience at this restaurant, which completely ruined my wife's special day on her birthday. We had a reservation for 8:15, but the cook took more than 1.5 hours to start grilling our food. Our assigned server provided the worst service we had ever experienced; we had to keep calling her for service. Our table comprised of three groups, and it was confirmed multiple times that it was a birthday celebration for two people. The server brought ice cream with a candle and placed it in front of the wrong person, then rushed to sing the birthday song, leaving us with no reaction. My wife had to say that it was her birthday, and she told the server that she felt left out. She requested that the server bring another ice cream while heating up the cold green tea that was served. The server brought the hot green tea but forgot the ice cream again. Finally, when she brought it, it didn't have a candle, and she had no intention of correcting her mistake by wishing my wife a happy birthday again. When we received the bill, we noticed two additional items that we never ordered. The whole night was chaotic, and it completely destroyed my wife's birthday. The manager was at least able to understand our situation and compensated for it by reducing the bill amount, but there is no cost for the lost emotions.

First time coming to Benihana. I was not impressed. I have been to many hibachi restaurants and they have all been better than this place. The food has no flavor. The restaurant is not very clean. It needs a renovation. The tables and cooking hoods are dirty. The table has food in the creases. They also need yum yum sauce. I was afraid to try the sushi because I wasn't sure if it would be fresh. I will just stick with Kansai steakhouse (Hibachi) in Bourbonnais. Customer service was good but the food needs some work. Don't waste your money.

I was already annoyed I never received my birthday reward for today and now this just annoyed me even more. They have completely lost their minds with the new portion sizes. I haven’t eaten here in about a year and I should’ve kept it that way. I ordered rice for a serving of 4 people for a pickup order and when I get hoke and check the bag it’s one regular size container. I remember eating here several times in the past and rice portion was decent size amount. This is not worth $32.45

Nice and clean restaurant great service good food but no yummy yummy sauce that for me is four stars. Joke on the side but definitely Benihana is really well known with her yummy yummy sauce it is so yummy.This is a great restaurant and my dinner was really good.
