Benihana - Japanese restaurant in Manhasset - 2105 Northern Blvd, USA

Years ago, Benihana was the type of place worthy of breaking out the clip-on tie and a pair of dress slacks. It was a festive, fun place with great food and a lively atmosphere....Boy oh boy how things have changed. Recently, I went to the Benihana in Manhasset NY and was very disappointed. The food was terrible. Now, full disclosure, I am only reviewing the sushi bar food, we didn't have the hibachi, but based on my experience I wouldn't. We couldn't eat the spicy salmon roll and the avocado salmon rolls because they didn't smell right. The white fish sushi tasted very, very fishy, and all the fish we ordered was just slightly above room temp. I definitely will not be going back.

Crazily expensive , the food is one of the worst I’ve ever had in the past 10 years life in nyc , all dishes are salty as hell , the quality of food sucks , the chicken tastes like died over 1year , the service yea there is no service ,the sever is busy who no no purpose , can’t believe it is the chain restaurants, sometimes if u succeed not about you deserve it , it is about you doing something early. never come back , the first time is also the last time

A well rounded experience with exceptional service and attentive staff. The food is wonderful and drinks are delicious! The hot sake is a must. Best spicy shrimp I've had. The place is popular and loud, usually a 20 minute wait at dinner time, but they keep it flowing pretty quickly. For 5 of us with tax and tip it was $400.

Chef willy is the best. He was entertaining, funny and respected all our food allergies for our young princess at the table. Thank you so much for the experience Willy.

I ordered 2 sushi platters for a Thanksgiving party and they delivered me not even 8 rolls of what was probably the smallest and worst sushi I have ever seen. I paid over $100 and the manager tried to tell me that I ordered 8 rolls and not the 2 platters that were clearly documented on the receipt. The manager was rude and not helpful at all. The presentation was nothing short of embarrassing.

The food was really good but the overall atmosphere was decent compared to other hibachi places I’ve been to, the main issue was the lights being on and bright, usually the lights are dim or off and the lights being fully on was a bit weird.The food was very good tho, i got teriyaki chicken and loved it.The dumplings are very good too.I also got sherbet at the end and it was really good, especially with the whip cream on top

Everything was so perfect! The food was amazing, but on top of that was the service. Nujhat had our table and she was so so sweet! She was so nice to us and always had a smiling face. You guys have great employees. I definitely see myself coming back but this time with more people 🎀.
