Benihana - Japanese restaurant in Newport Beach - 4250 Birch St, USA

Oscar our chef and Alana our waitress were WONDERFUL!! My sister and I went in for lunch and we were the only ones at the table in the beginning then another lovely Lady joined our table and soon after a very nice older couple. We all started talking along with Oscar and it was a wonderful time. You would’ve thought we all came together lol. It was the best lunch hour I’ve had in a really long time. Not to mention the steak was literally melting in my mouth. A+ all the way around!! The manager Joshua was super friendly as well, we spoke with him before our meal and he checked on us again after. Great experience!!

Celebrated my birthday and I highly recommend the Seared Tuna. It’s been my fav for a while and never disappoints! Our chef Patrick was great and his jokes were on point. Overall loved the dining experience here, per usual!

The lobster is good. The garlic fried rice is good. The beef is ok because it is tender. I prefer rib eye rather than fillet. The dessert is great. The zucchini and the onions are tasty. The mushroom soup is meh.

Good food, tasty and delicious steak 🥩 and salad and rice 🍚, but I service not good enough and waiting time is too long!

We love the food, the staff , we always go for birthdays, anniversaries or just cause we are craving the food any day is a good day to come and enjoy the atmosphere and the food.we are excited for our next reservation

My girlfriend and myself ate dinner here and shared a table with a family of four. We had a very good time and the chef was very kind and entertaining while cooking. I really enjoyed the food and thought the quality was up to par for the price. I would come back here and really do recommend getting the shrimp and the lobster.

I’ve been coming to this Benihana since I was a kid (~30 years) and am always pleased with my experience. This time around I went solo for dinner in the bar. I was greeted at the counter and informed it was self seating. I was greeted at my table by someone in training, then my waiter, Charles. He apologized for the wait but it was not that long. I ordered the Emperors feast (Filet Mignon, Chicken, shrimp appetizer, veggies, soup, salad, ice cream and green tea). Overall the food gets and 8.5 tonight. Everything was good, but the filet mignon had some tough pieces and a few pieces were under cooked (see pics). The steak was still good, but at $43 for the meal I would hope all of the steak was edible. Charles good service is what earned an overall 5/5. I also got a bottled Sapporo which hit good. Overall another solid experience.

A must! Wonderful experience! The food is good and the portions are huge! The chefs are very cool and friendly! It is a difficult job and they do their best so you can have fun! Their kitchen plates are good too. We had a great time and highly recommend it!
