This is a fun, small museum tucked away on the Amherst College campus. Parking seems funny as you navigate narrow campus streets. The museum is free. There are a mix of rocks and minerals and fossils and lots of dinosaur tracks. Much of the exhibit is focused on the local geologic history and dinosaurs. Most of the tracks were found locally.
It is great for kids and interesting for adults too.
Located on Amherst College. Parking is a little difficult to find
Once you are in the building you are greeted with a wall of beautiful gem stones. Inside has many different kinds of fossils. It has a q code 🦕 track tour. Remember to pull out the drawers on the wall to find more fun things
It is 3 levels but has an elevator
Awesome place for an excursion, especially for 5 College students who can bus over for free! Super impressed by the collection and local history here 🦖
While touring colleges in the 5 Institute coalition in the Amherst/Northampton, MA area, we walked this museum at Amherst College.
We were really impressed with the information and exhibits on display!
Small but fun place to see and learn about older and modern animals and creatures that once walked the earth. They have gem collections, sculptures, huge fossils and many other things. Staff are so friendly and informative. Footprints you can interact with. It's free so you can come in and explore.
Our 1st time here and we absolutely loved it. Parking was a little confusing but a nice man told us to park across the street, a short walk over. Museum is free, modern, superbly organized and cataloged and wonderful to learn and explore. Yasmin, greeted us, helped us get acquainted with everything, and she was kind enough to give us many dining options in the area. We'll definitely be back to visit this museum again.
Absolutely amazing collection! Three floors of dinosaur tracks, skeletons, preserved fossils, and more. While some call it small it’s definitely a very complete and diverse collection with lots of various well known specimens. I spent two hours in there just because we were on a time crunch when I visited, I could spend all day with the helpful staff and interesting specimens. I would recommend to anyone taking a trip out near Amherst. Worth every second and its free to the public!
Amazing. Our neice and nephew had a great time looking at everything and learning things no longer taught in public school

An outstanding tribute to Eric Carle. The bookstore and library have an excellent array of moving/meaningful kids' books. The artistic displays, throughout the museum and in the bookstore, are incredible. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
I got a mixed platter which I ate too fast to take a picture so I took a photo of the fried oreos which are amazing! They do get packed on weeknights which is stressful on the employees. I mean packed! But come on a regular day or earlier customer se

My daughter and niece highly recommend this place. Unfortunately, Monday was their resting day. We finally get to get this place on Tuesday. Itâs definitely worth the wait.
The restaurant is very small with just a few tables for dine-ins. The
This is my favorite park in Massachusetts. Easy to access as it's not far from I-91 and the amherst/Springfield areas. The park itself is huge and has many trails. The White blazed Metacomet-Monadnock trail is the highlight as it traverses the entire
