On a roadtrip that I specifically left unplanned I had the wonderful experience of staying at the Belva Lockwood Inn. I was so appreciative of the last minute accommodations, Brie, the innkeeper personally took my reservation mid afternoon for that same night, and along with her husband, greeted me upon arrival. The house is gorgeous, meticulously maintained with so many historical items to look at. The room was spacious, the bed was dreamy, and I loved the view of the river out the beautiful original wooden shutters. The ensuite bathroom was modern, the shower was intuitive, and the provided bath robe was an extra special touch. A picnic basket breakfast was delivered outside the bedroom door, and the scone warm as if it were just out of the oven ensured my day's adventure began wonderfully. Everything about the Belva Lockwood Inn was outstanding: location on the water and in a cute historic town, the impressive history of the namesake, the knowledge and friendliness of the innkeepers (and their sweet elderly dog!), the bedroom, the breakfast - truly among the best b&bs, and lodgings in general, that I have stayed in. As a solo traveler I felt warmly welcomed. I highly recommend the Belva Lockwood Inn to anyone who may be traveling thru the Fingerlakes region!
My wife and I had the nicest stay at the Inn. Matt and Brie are wonderful hosts who greeted us upon our arrival, gave us a tour and a bit of the history of the Inn, shared a welcome glass of Prosecco, helped with our luggage and showed us to our room. Every room in the home is wonderfully decorated, clean and comfortable. The location of the Inn is perfect, just a block away from downtown Owego. We spent time on the front porch on a comfortable couch and rocking chair on a perfect evening. And then there was breakfast... over the top!!! French press coffee, juice, a homemade egg and cheese creation, scones and muffins... delivered in a delightful picnic basket right to the room! Thank you, Matt & Brie for a wonderful end to our vacation! - Chris & Joy Sadlo
Short story: This Inn is charming and comfortable. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. We had a great time there and we will be back! I highly recommend it!||My family and I stayed at the Belva Lockwood Inn during my daughter's graduation weekend. Now that the dust has settled from her Binghamton University graduation and moving her back home, I want to let everyone know that you should definitely plan a stay at the Inn! Brie, the owner of the Inn, and her partner Matt are friendly, warm, kind, and welcoming. They are dedicated to making sure their guests have a wonderful experience - and we sure did. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable, with modern conveniences but with the historic charm of the gorgeous Victorian home preserved and tastefully decorated. We woke up to the smell of a delicious breakfast being prepared each morning, which was delivered to our rooms in a picnic basket with real linen and flatware, and a carafe of coffee or tea. There is a spacious dining area and a full bar on site with prosecco on tap! A refreshments station is on the second floor, just steps from the rooms. There's a beautiful large porch with lots of comfortable seating. Lots of great information was on display about Belva Lockwood, an amazing historical figure. We all had a great time and it was so much better than staying at a generic hotel. A very easy 20 minute drive to Binghamton University. I can't say enough about this lovely inn and our great stay there.
Excellent stay in an extremely comfortable, cozy hospitable inn within walking distance of town. The inn keepers Matthew and Bria clearly love hosting and go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Breakfasts are delivered via baskets and are scrumptious! Guests can help themselves to snacks and beverages, including a daily complimentary alcoholic beverage each day of your stay. The outdoor wrap around porch is comfy and lovely for relaxing and the indoor furnishings are very well appointed. I slept great in the beds and the house is solidly built and quiet- we never heard any noise from other guests or rooms. The location is ideal for exploring several hot spots including Watkins Glen, the Ithaca Farmers Market and gorges, falls, and Corning Museum. Highly recommend!
Spent the weekend here as a nice get away with my parents. Absolutely incredible experience and will 1000% be back. Brie and Matt are just the kindest most hospitable hosts and made our trip amazing. I was a big fan of the specialty cocktails that Brie crafted for us! The rooms that we stayed in were clean, comfortable, and had the amenities of a modern building while still having that historic charm that a location like this promises. The building is old, so you'll hear some squeaks on the stairs, but there's space and charm in abundance and even my father with mobility issues was able to wander to the center of town to experience the river walk and the shops and food that Owego has to offer. Absolutely a trip that I will be promoting to friends and family to try out! Don't miss this must visit gem!!!
The Belva Lockwood is an oasis that overlooks the beautiful Susquehanna River in charming Owego, New York. The rooms are uniquely appointed, comfortable and lovely. They're also immaculate. The innkeepers, Brie and Matt, are wonderful people who are glad to offer tips on the locale. And one of our favorite experiences in staying at Belva Lockwood is the scrumptious breakfast baskets, which are delivered to the door each morning, at a time that guests select. Brie makes the baked goods, and they are phenomenal. The last time we stayed, our breakfast basket included mini-quiches, homemade scones, and yogurt and fruit parfaits. A hot pot of coffee completed the delivery. You'll also find a Nespresso machine with a selection of coffee, cold drinks, and snacks that are available 24/7. Plus, guests are welcome to a cocktail or glass of wine/beer each evening. What a wonderful place in a pretty part of upstate New York!
We stayed at the Belva Lockwood Inn during our wedding weekend in May, and we can’t say enough good things about the experience! Brie and Matt were such thoughtful and kind hosts, doing everything possible to help make sure our wedding day went smoothly. We stayed in the Gorman Suite, and the living room area was just right for hair and makeup with plenty of space for members of our wedding party to hang out and get ready. When we returned to the inn after the wedding, the bar downstairs was the perfect spot to sit, have a drink and rehash the wonderful moments of the day with a few of our guests (who also stayed at the inn). Another highlight of our stay was the delicious breakfast delivered to our room each morning in an adorable picnic basket! Brie and Matt graciously accommodated our request for vegan meals with hearty and delicious fare, which we enjoyed while sitting on the inn’s gorgeous (and huge) front porch. We would absolutely recommend the Belva Lockwood Inn to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Owego area, for a wedding or just a weekend getaway!
My husband and I recently enjoyed a delightful weekend getaway at the Belva Lockwood Inn, and it exceeded all our expectations. The inn itself is a stunning historic home, once owned by the remarkable Belva Lockwood, a woman who left an indelible mark on history. We were truly captivated by her achievements and her efforts to combat the inequalities faced by women in the late 19th century. Brie and Matt, the hosts of the inn, were incredibly gracious and welcoming. Their pride in the property is evident in every detail, and the immaculate upkeep of the inn reflected their dedication. Each morning, we eagerly awaited the arrival of the breakfast basket filled with delicious meals and a fresh pot of coffee—an added touch that made our stay even more special. Our experience at the Belva Lockwood Inn was truly memorable, and would definitely visit again in the future. Thank you to Brie and Matt for providing such a wonderful retreat—we can't wait to return.
The rooms were very clean no musty smell everything seemed and its place and everyone was friendly and respectful. Great place to stay. Iâd recommend it to anyone and Iâve stayed in many of your competitors hotels, and you are amongst the best

Delicious sandwiches and soups and a great place to stop for a quick lunch. The tuna salad is fantastic and the area is super cute and charming. Also loved the bathroom art.
