Belle Hearth Bed & Breakfast - Featured Reviews (20)
Found this wonderful Bed & Breakfast online yesterday and booked it right there and then after deciding spontaneously to stay while visiting wine country for a day. Linda & Wayne were nothing but nice, accommodating, with a great sense of humor and nothing less of amazing upon our arrival. Since our overnight stay was unexpected and we literally had nothing with us; Linda was kind enough to offer to drive us to local stores to pick up necessities and clothes. It only got better from there - we ended up having an amazing evening with the hosts, while chatting and laughing and hearing stories about the history and a little tour of the house. Our room was amazing and bed was beyond comfortable with fresh linens. Next morning we enjoyed our marvelous homemade breakfast served in the most beautiful fine bone china, again in the company of wonderful hosts. Entire house is very clean and truly unique. Definitely makes you feel like you went back straight to early 1900’s with so much character and uniqueness. Having travelled many places in the world and stayed at various high end hotels, and this being my first B&B experience - I can say, hands down, this will be one of the most memorable stays! If you like a genuine, quaint, home away from home place - look no further! If you are looking for someone to carry your bags around, this is probably not for you. However, if you’re looking for a true unique gem in wine country to make your trip truly unforgettable - this is it! Thank you Linda & Wayne for making our little adventure most memorable and making us feel truly home!
I had the best experience at Belle Hearth. After a long day of drinking wine and watching polo, a friend and I made the last-minute decision to stay in the Charlottesville area while our other three friends drove home to Hampton Roads. We showed up at Belle Hearth with nothing but our purses and the innkeeper, Linda offered to drive my friend to get clothes and travel necessities. While they did that, I took a much-needed nap. When I woke up Linda and Wayne were so gracious. They told us where to grab a bite to eat and gave us a tour of their beautiful, historic home. They even taped their Sunday night shows to hang out with us. It was one of those rare experiences that I am so grateful to have had. They told us breakfast was at 8:30am but I think we all knew we weren’t going to make it to that. So around 10:30, when we finally strolled out of our room, totally not expecting breakfast, Linda and Wayne were in the dining room and had saved breakfast for us. It was so sweet, kind and unexpected. I felt like I was staying at a family friend’s home the entire time. It was much more comfortable than your average hotel and the hosts were the cutest. I highly recommend staying at Belle Hearth. It made me want to stay only at B&Bs next time I travel! Thanks for everything Linda & Wayne :)
Have visited Belle Hearth twice and both times the experience has been fantastic. Wayne and Linda are great Inn Keepers, always having a smile on their face and provide great conversation. The rooms are beautiful and well kept with very period decorations that as you look around the room you keep finding new things to see. We will be back again!
We stayed for a night here on our way through the area and loved every minute of it! Wayne was so kind and the inn was exactly what we hoped for: clean, uniquely decorated, and quiet. The apple filled croissant for part of our breakfast was out of this world! They even have two sweet cats. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great bed and breakfast experience!
Beautifully decorated Victorian filled with antiques and charm! The hosts are super friendly, making sure all your needs are met. Fresh cookies, snacks, beverages provided daily, along with amazing breakfasts! So nice to be able to stay in such a cozy place.
If you like you Bed and Breakfast with a side of attitude and knick-knacks this one is for you! My husband and I travel frequently and this was one of the worst experiences with any kind of lodging we have ever had. I encourage you to read the Yelp and lower reviews on Google and Trip Advisor as it is very consistent with our experiences. They treat their guests like children instead of paying customers. Admonishing them for being "late" to breakfast after five minutes, as well as continuing to tell my husband and I (and then my mother) in front of other guests that we weren't expected and there was not room at the table for us and they "should have been told" (my mother had explained we would be coming the second night, they were told multiple times apparently they just wanted the money but didn't want to provide the services for the second night booked room??). To be fair, the beds were decent and room cleanliness was okay so if driving through and its your only option go for it just skip the breakfast drama. They are tired of "ungrateful guests" their words not mine. Personally I'm not too fond of ungrateful businesses. Take your money and your vacation elsewhere (unless you enjoy this type of treatment).
This used to be my grandmother's house before it was the b/b. My childhood was spent every summer here. Was so happy it was made a bb. Came to visit with my children and the memories were amazing. I will be going back
This is a beautiful b and b. The rooms are cozy, clean, and well decorated. The owners are welcoming, friendly, and great cooks! They also know the area and can recommend places to go and things to do if you need it. I would stay here again.
Absolutely the best wings we ever had!! Fried chicken sandwich and Bourbon burger was to die for!! The Mac and cheese sealed the deal!! The sweet potato dish was out of this world!! Did I mention the fried catfish? I am now and yes Catherine and I tr
I have reviewed the east side, now for the west. This side is way more of a workout getting to and from the tunnel. More of a woodland trail where you eventually make your way to the black fence and tunnel, but with a lot of ups and downs. The tunnel
This fine establishment is a must go to when in the Waynesboro area!! Located right down town- street parking was available, but there are several parking lots close by as well. The decor is amazing! Every table is different! They use super cute vint
I had the best experience at tailgate tonight! Hanna was the friendliest person I have ever met and was super helpful to me. Always going out the way to make sure food and service was magnificent
Holy cow, what a find. This is going to be our favorite place to go in Waynesboro and a far radius beyond. The fried oysters were big, juicy, and very delicious. The sauce that came with them was the perfect compliment. The wilted spinach was the
