The house was built in 1882 by John C. Wallace, a prominent pharmacist.

If you like the Victorian style and lots of antiques then this is your place. If you're a minimalist and don't care for lots of stuff around, then stay away. It's a very old place (as in vintage) and difficult to find for lack of signage. The proprietors are very pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast was good.
We each had arranged for a Tarot Card reading by Dustin. They were insightful and spot on. We highly recommend a reading.

I’ve now stayed twice, once with my wife, in the Black Orchid Suite. The clawfoot tub, the 1920s decor and the view were stellar.
The owners make probably the best breakfasts I’ve had in the state.
Worth every penny, you should stay here.
Quaint, stately house conveniently located in the North Hill Historic District of New Castle, a block from the Lawrence County Historical Society and Scottish Rite Cathedral. Our Asian inspired room was richly decorated with a new bathroom. The owners are friendly, attentive and provide a delicious breakfast in their beautiful dining room. A relaxing, memorable stay. Bonus: The recommended Edward's Restaurant is a 10 minute walk away!
The Sacred Lotus room was perfect for our weekend away. We had an event at the Scottish cathedral which was a two minute walk. Service was tremendous! Breakfasts were delicious and owners were very accommodating for our early am Sunday breakfast. Clean, decorated so adorable! We’d stay again!
The Black Orchid room was beautifully decorated. And though we were there on a very cold night, the house was amply heated, despite the vastness of this Victorian mansion. The breakfast was just amazing--we had a frittata that was one of the best I've ever tasted. And the hosts are kind and helpful.
Had an event at the Scottish Rite Cathedral and this was the absolutely best place to stay. Innkeepers were super friendly and VERY accommodating to our crazy event schedule. Room was slightly dusty and that’s the only reason I gave 4 stars - bed was super comfortable, house was beautiful and eclectically decorated to match the interests of the innkeepers.
This was a perfect location to use as a “home base” for my activities.It’s a beautifully restored building with tons of charm. Dustin and Mariah were wonderful hosts.
We were passing through. Very nice hosts and wonderful interior. We stayed at the Sacred Lotus room on the 3rd floor (beware, stairs are steep). The lounge/parlor is on the second floor with small fridge with cold water bottles and coffee maker for tea/coffee. Interesting decor. Wonderful breakfast. Would like to stay here again if there's something to do in New Castle.

This place is so cool! We started with a wine tasting, then a delicious dinner of pizzas and pasta⦠and more wine! After dinner we enjoyed talking with the owner before relaxing in front of the outside fire pit. I highly recommend everything!
