Classic brunch spot with a nice variety of options but wasn’t too memorable. I wanted to like the dishes more - waffles were nice and crispy but toppings made it overly sweet. We got a cornbread waffle too which was good but not a wow. Overall felt like this was maybe just a step up from a good homemade brunch, which is maybe exactly what some people are looking for. We loved the venue - sat on the roof which felt so cozy and bright. Prices are a little expensive for what it is, especially beverages.
Went for Saturday brunch with reservations & we were seated upon arrival. I got the 2 eggs with a bucket of bacon & it was so yummy! My husband got the chicken & waffles, removed a star because we had to ask for the jalapeños syrup that it was supposed to be served with. Friend ordered the Belgian omelet and he raved about it. We 3 split the doffle as a sweet treat, and it too was a delight. Prices are comparable to others in the area.
We had a great brunch experience at belga cafe! We came for Saturday brunch and I ordered the green juice and Belgian French toast. The grilled pineapple was amazing with the French toast. The green juice was a great mix of greens and pineapple and mango. We started off with the cinnamon roll waffle which was delicious! There’s a frosting side for dipping! My husband just got the classic burger which was delicious. The fries were really fresh and hot. Overall great service and great food. I would like to try the French toast but it seemed like a lot of veggies with the salad on top of it posted in some other reviews! Fantastic experience. Must try!!
Loved the food and vibe of the place. Our hostess was very nice. We ordered avacado toast, mushroom toast and strawberry waffle. Service was quick and food tasted amazing.
Where's the love? Solid food and nice atmosphere. We came for lunch on restaurant week. Food was good, not great but still good. We would definitely return. Crab pappardelle, tasty but really had to mix it to taste the sauce. It was ok. Cheese croquette, delicious! Banana bread pudding, was ok too. I wasn't impressed but it was still solid food. Would return! Service was good and attentive and wines were impressive.
I finally found authentic Belgian waffles that taste like the ones I actually had in Belgium! I had to ask the waiter which ones were authentic, though, because many of the waffles were “American Belgian waffles,” which I was not interested in. All the food was delicious, however, and would highly recommend! There was some decent street parking nearby in a very charming section of D.C. Giving it 4 stars because once the waiter was a bit snippy with me and after we paid our bill, never came back to double check on us or if we needed bags for our leftovers. Otherwise, a lovely experience! And they have several options for outdoor seating as well. It was also easy to make a reservation and they text you to confirm. I think you have a 30-minute grace period to get there in time for your reservation. Also, great selection of music for Saturday brunch! Cocktails were delicious and so were the actual green eggs!
I enjoyed the brunch at Belga cafe. I love the chicken and waffle. The Nutella and banana crepe was really sweet but very tasty. I only wish the Mexican corn bread waffle was crispier and less soft to eat.
First time there my food was pretty delicious unfortunately two other people in my Party was served raw chicken :-( with the chicken and waffles. The serve replaced the order with a full order. The drinks were really nice and the atmosphere was really nice. Definitely would go again.
