Belas - Hotel in Willis - 13260 FM 1097 W, USA

This place might not have turned out to be the dream vacation that apparently so many had thought it would turn out to be, but I have not one ill word to speak of this place. The management and owner of this fine resort are just some genuine good hearted people willing to lend a helping hand whenever they are faced with the opportunity. I for one am truly grateful for this place because it was just where God placed the fine folks of Bela's Resort because he knew it was where this select few would be able to serve him best in one down and out disabled veterans time of need. These people became like family to me. Bill stepped up and filled the roll of mentor while he guided me in the beginning steps of starting my veteran owned and operated small business. They overlooked many things just to be able to pass that same care on to my best friend and her teenage son when what they needed was more watchful eyes than what I alone could provide, even with cameras for security. They did as best they could to work with me on my monthly payments as long as I was open and honest with them. Every month, after I made my payment, bill would ask me the same one question..."What can I do to help?" He wasn't just asking to make me feel better for the next five minutes. He was asking because he honestly wanted to know what he could do to help. If at any point I needed a ride anywhere after losing transportation, one of Bela's staff was always available to give me a ride wherever I needed to go, even if nobody really was available. It's really sad to see all these negative reviews because of some rough patch in some weekenders otherwise smooth itinerary. I guess after planning for weather, back-up transportation, rest stops, snacks, meals, and site seeing, the one thing they didn't think to plan for was a complication with booking at their first choice of overnight accommodations. We'll, that doesn't seem to be the resorts fault, now does it. Everybody planning to do anything worth actually having to plan just to do it knows you always have a backup to every plan. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. I didn't carry one firearm in Iraq because, "well, my trusty M-16 has never let me down yet. No need to plan for something like that until after it happens, right?" I would have been firing fists full of sand and prayers to Allah that the pile of trash I try to shove him into be one of his own IEDs. But what's the likelihood they would get close enough to an unarmed Marine for that kind of excitement. They would take advantage and use me as target practice while honing their aim with their AK-47 or ill-gotten American weaponry. That's why a well kept 9mm and a couple of frags were never too far away. No complaint from me to Colt that my rifle failed me in a fire fight. Just incorporate my backup and keep pushing forward. My mission was never ruined because of an unforseen. That's why it's important to remember the 7 P's. Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. In closing, from where I sit, Bela's Resort did not earn nor did they deserve all those negative reviews. In fact it was the traveler who earned and deserved the negative reviews. "Google! Uncle Blue Falcon was the worst vacation planner I have ever experienced. When the not so uncommon mix up with accommodations occurred as should have been anticipated, he was not prepared and left us scrambling to find last minute vacancies. There was a line forming behind us and everybody was frustrated and impatiently staring at us. Talk about embarrassing. I would not recommend letting Uncle Blue Falcon plan any of your vacations. I know i will never make that mistake again." If they had just taken the time to talk with the staff that they were dealing with they would have seen that the staff would do everything they could to assist them in finding another place or putting them in a different cabin. They help any way they can. Bela's Resort cares about anyone standing before them at any point in time. I now consider the Resort staff to be family because they treated me as such.

Staying at Belas resort Tiny home (#100) was one of the worst experience my family endured for a short weekend vacation. Once we arrived at the cabin, and got settled in cabin 100 and we noticed that the TV didn’t work in the living room. The internet was so slow we couldn’t use our iPads. There were no extra trash bags only the one in the trash can. The refrigerator light and icemaker was broken. Hours later we noticed the freezer was not working so our food defrosted. The beds were horrible…. the queen and king size mattresses for sunken the middle. Felt like we were sleeping on the floor and there was loud buzzing sound all night. There were only 3 face towels and 3 drying towels for 5 people for two days. We called for service and the property manager came over. She could not fix the fridge or the TV. She said she would call maintenance man but he never showed up. We never got more towels, but she did drop off trash bags by the front door. We text and called about the maintenance man, but the property management would not respond. Even after we left on Sunday we never got a respond from anyone. We did not get what we paid for and management was not professional. I will share this experience with everyone I know.

I went with my fiancé to stay at the Belas last weekend. It was phenomenal! We requested a cabin on the lake and they gave us a renovated one which was awesome! The cabins are adorable and make it feel like home. With a wonderful patio facing the lake, it was so easy to relax! The staff was great. On our first night we accidentally locked ourselves out with no keys, phones or any belongings. There was a cabin near by that helped us get a hold of the staff and they came out late night to open it up for us! Also, the internet was having issues so they brought us a hotspot. Also, they offered to bring us coffees in the morning for any inconvenience. I have seen some negative reviews on here but that was not our experience at all. They went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay possible! Also, I have seen reviews stating their room wasn't available on arrival. I will say there is some issue with Expedia so they double book rooms. I saw these reviews and called ahead of time. Turns out ours had been double booked as well. They ended up moving us to an even nicer cabin. So I do suggest calling and confirming your reservation. We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend.

Although check-in was almost disastrous (Thanks AirBNB), we managed to book a room that wasn't available. Then we met Kathy & Bill and they placed us in a different cabin last minute. Needless to say, it was beautiful, calm, peaceful. Waking up and falling asleep to view God's creation was breathtaking. The room was perfect. The deck was spacious. My morning coffee and worshiping Jesus didn't bother anyone. What more could I ask for. The neighbors were also courteous. We're definitely planning on returning. Thank you for a restful, peaceful, calm couple of days. My suggestion is to call directly. After reading other reviews, here's my response. Although there are cobwebs on the deck railings, it's nothing a broom or napkins can't clean up. The room and deck were spacious, perfect temperature, and simply great! I think two TV's didn't work mostly because the remotes didn't have batteries, but this made more time to do things together or rest entirely. Don't forget to take pictures at dawn, dusk, and before bed, especially the stars.

This place was awful, unprepared, unprofessional, and irresponsible. I booked this rental from them and drove hours to get there excited for a mini vacation. However once we got there they told us that someone else reserved the same rental so they gave it to them instead since they reserved first which a made our whole trip pointless and a waste of time. I heard the same situation happen to multiple people. We could’ve spent our time looking for a different rental and enjoying our weekend if they knew how to be organized or competent; unfortunately they were neither.

TERRIBLE. We booked this excited to have a nice weekend getaway with our family and after driving 2 hours we arrived and were greeted with frustrating news that someone else had also reserved from a different website. This news infuriated us and breaking the news to the kids broke their hearts because they were so excited to be together and out of the house. Please do not reserve here and if you are going to prepare to be disappointed.

DON’T RENT HERE . We made a reservation on expedia at this place then on the day and time we were supposed to go we drove all the way there for almost 2.5 hours and it turn out that they rented the property for another family though we received a confiramtion email and payed the money and they said ite because it was rented to other families through someother platforms . It was completely disaapoitning extremely frustrating and unprofessional . The whole family and all the kids got so disappointed and sad . It’s one of the worest places anyone can rent at .

This place is so deceiving!!! Inside was NOT clean, mold in the coffee maker, dirty socks on floor at end of bed , STAINED sheets in the loft bed upstairs. The outside porch overlooking the lake was so filthy and disgusting. Looked like it hadn’t been swept in years. Cow webs everywhere, and couldn’t be out there for more then 5 minutes without a wasp buzzing around you!!! Like really?? And the “community “ pool, absolutely horrifying!!!!!! Trash over flowing , dirty towels and cloths hung over fence, pool looked like it hadn’t been clean in weeks!!! Fake eyelashes on the floor by the pool, I mean absolutely gross!! Finally told the girl working inside to at least dump the trash , the smell and the bugs it was attracting was awful.. I would NEVER recommend this place , which is really sad. Or at least hire new staff that actually cares about the appearance of a place that a family like mine can actually enjoy especially since this was suppose to be a mini “vacation “ !!!! It was the worst place I’ve ever stayed and to pay what I paid was insane.. not to mention the headache of trying to contact the “host” to get the keys, and was told they couldn’t find our reservation due to computer glitches so we lost a whole day and was never even asked what could be done to make it right. Horrible horrible experience. Think twice before booking , at least in COTTAGE #103!!!!!
