BEWARE!! DO NOT COME TO THIS MOTEL. The room was not disgusting, bed was unmade, no toilet seat on toilet, greasy night stand, disgusting filthy carpet, electric sockets did not work, tv did not work. An older woman used to own this place but no more, that is why there are positive review from years ago. Her grandson took it over and is running it to the ground. He and his gf clean the rooms, even though ours was not clean. I would give 0 stars but google will not let me. Don’t stay, you will be happy I told you. Called the health department after my stay.
DON’T stay here!!! 86 degrees in room, air is controlled at the desk NOT in room. Stayed 86 all night! Tried to give us a new room when the TV remote didn’t work. Remote batteries were corroded but TV didn’t work anyway. New room had no working electricity. Homeless live in some rooms. People came hourly to room next door, kids were loud (not their fault) school bus came early to pick them up. Poor kids were up STILL at 3:00 AM. CPS needs to be called!!!!!! Worst experience ever. Rooms were clean though. 🙄
Let me start by saying that room 19 does not like neighbors and will report you for everything so if you have small children and plan to come here and stay in room 18 or 20 don't do it cause he will tell on you everyday and get you kicked out they will choose him over you even if he's in the wrong and they know it. 😡😡 Other then that the room are older styled but where clean when I arrived and staff was very nice to me just upset me that they kicked me out over my children... And room 19 is a grumpy old man and will report you for everything like I had to walk on egg shells dealing with him cause as soon as he hears something he runs to the office
I believe they work off of the if you don't tell, they won't ask policy. Also noting that the hotel management or some down-to-earth good people thank you
After a long drive from Niagara Falls to Muskegon, we were exhausted and dismayed to learn that the Lake Express Ferry had failed to let us know about a break-down that cancelled our over-night passage to Milwaukee. Since there were others stranded in Milwaukee with a similar situation, we were able to cancel our reservation there without penalty. I was skeptical of taking advice from the ferry staffers, but they get all the credit for steering us to this property. This an unusual motel for having mini-suites; our unit had nice-sized double beds in a front room and in a small back room, plus a full bath with a tub. My teenage son enjoyed having his own quiet room on our long road trip. Beyond that, what was truly amazing was that this hotel is so perfectly preserved across ~50 years of time. Simply take out the microwave, mini-fridge and flat-screen TV and you'd have a perfect movie set for a Gerald Ford bio-pic. A road passes right in front, but otherwise all was tranquil. (I'm die-hard about my earplugs.) The proprietor Joan is a gem. Price was fair, and we were walk-ins so I cannot comment on the booking issues others have mentioned. And, wi-fi on our stay was easy to access and lightening fast. I agree that this would be an amazing place to take-over for a reunion of some kind. Long live the 1970s!
Joan is the best. She makes you feel at home. The rooms are clean and affordable. This little gem of a motel has a nice place in back with patio furnishings, a grill, a TV, a fire pit and a canopy. You can bring your own food and grill out and relax. Very quite.
Save yourself a hassle, and call the motel directly to book. Booking.com was not up-to-date when we reserved the room, and the motel was full when Booking.com said they had 6 available rooms. The owner called and apologized because she had to cancel our reservation. When we were on our way to Muskegon, she called because they had a cancellation, so we decided to stay at Bel-Aire to save $100 compared to a competitor's rate for that night.| The room was small and quaint, appointed with handmade quilts on the beds. The bathroom was small, with a walk-in shower tucked into the corner and no tub. Be aware that the "breakfast" mentioned on the website comes in the form of doughnuts from the local shop offered out of the box in a small dining area at the front of the motel owner's living quarters. You can also grab a doughnut to go, as well as a cup of coffee. | Before you jump in the shower, call the front desk so you can go pick up a blow dryer if you need one. Imagine my surprise when I got out of the shower, went to dry my hair, and not only was there no blow dryer, but I had to go get it from the office. Not that my legs were broken, but this was inconvenient, and I don't like walking around outside in public with my hair still wet from the shower. The owner explained that people were walking away with her blow dryers, so she keeps a few in the office now.| If there isn't a fairly large savings for staying here, I'd recommend staying elsewhere. There is nothing wrong with this quaint old-fashioned one story motel, and the owner is a very friendly woman, but it doesn't have the amenities of the chains.
First off- I read reviews and I am not sure what everyone's past motels/hotels have been.||I have not been in a motel in a long time- been very blessed and been in many 'nice' and 'high end' hotel chains (so I do know there would be a difference between them). ||Everything else was booked- so I called and found out they had a room and my son and I took it (he had a sand in soccer tournament nearby). ||The room was very clean- and also dated- but that made it that 'cool' experience as well. good flat screen TV; frig worked well and cold, things were 'dated' but a great experience. ||We had a wide variety of fresh baked doughnuts and rolls every day and the coffee was decent (not Starbucks- but give me a break as well). ||the BEST part was Joan- the owner of the establishment.||She was awesome- nice customer service/ friendly/ kind/ really cares about her place. ||||really quite easy to get on and off the highway and compared to what some of my other buddies had to pay for a room that weekend- it was very well priced as well.
This was a beautiful park I visited with my children and my dog. If you go right, you can take a nice nature hike all the way down to Lake Michigan. With amazing views both ways at the end. The kids can run up and down the dunes in areas if they woul
One of the nicest state parks we've ever stayed at. Really nice bathroom/shower facilities with clean, private shower rooms. Tons of trails with incredible wooded and beach areas. There's a pretty creek right behind our site. Their play area for kids
Bella Maria's could not have been better. Our guests raved about the food. We were offsite and Teddy cooked our meal. The parmesan encrusted chicken breast was tender and juicy. Every dish was great. Staff was super friendly and quickly fixed a
