Loved this motel...room was clean...room service brought fresh towels and made bed every day...bed was very comfortable and not saggy or bouncy...no smoke or animal smells and it was very quiet...most of all was very nostalgic with all the neon lights...also bed had anti bed bug mattress protecters on mattress and box springs...definitely where I'd want to stay when we go back...all at an excellent price

Needed a day out of our semi. Glad we came by this motel. Was able to park our semi in the lot. Very calming and peaceful

I was pleasantly transported back to 1984 when I checked in my room. This was the type of motel that I stayed in when I started traveling for work. Everything was clean and worked. The only thing missing was the old magic fingers massager bed. I highly recommend this motel if your older and want to relive some memories and want a clean quaint place to stay

The concept of a legacy property that hasn't become efficiency apartments, an absolute dive, or, worse, demolished, is elusive. Enter the Bel Alton Motel. Built in 1952 (they short-change themselves in their own promotional material by saying "1957") the Bel Alton is a survivor from the heyday of US-301. The neon signs are visible like a beacon on the horizon, and beckon you like a moth to a midcentury flame. The rooms are exactly as pictured. Gloriously dated, original bathroom fixtures that people like me seek out and pay money for. Wood paneling, and a color scheme of, well, beige. So what? The place was CLEAN. I mean it. I didn't feel skeeved out, there were no stains, splotches, errant hairs, cigarette burns, and, other than a tiny ant near the bathroom window, there were NO BUGS. The rooms have plastic Maxwell House containers as ashtray outside, which kind of brings the general look down a little, but it's better than the rooms reeking. Everything smelled very neutral. No iron, no hairdryer, no shampoo unless you ask at the desk, be prepared. And, the cats...I love cats. I'm sure they're happy and are obviously well-fed and taken care of, but, I was picturing a cute tabby curled up and dozing on the front desk. There are actually several cages taking up the majority of the floor space in the office, and the consequential olfactory and atmospheric effects thereof, so, be forewarned if your allergies are affected. The ferals live out back, and occasionally skulk around the property, but it's not like you find a mangy one in the drawer in your room, it's fine.

Made a Trip to Maryland International Raceway near Mechanicsville (MD) for the "Import vs. Domestic Dragracing" Event. Traveled with my Wife and Toddler. We stayed there for 6 Nights and absolutely loved it. Pretty cool lookin Vintage Motel, clean Rooms , good Price and nice Staff and just 13min from the Track. If decide to visit that Event again we will definatly Book a Room there. The ONLY negative thing (for me at least) was the very very bad Wifi Connection in the Room. Only worked outside the Room. Normally i wouldnt care but it was also a business trip and i tried to do some remote work ;)

My family and I have stayed at few motels throughout our lives during trips. I have to say this place is very well taken care of.. love the fact it’s an American owned and Family operated for many years. The staff is super friendly. My kids love the pool. I can even bring my pets with me!! I’ll be sure to visit again soon!!

Decided to do a music video here and for what it was worth, it was nice! Definitely had the aesthetic we needed. Cool neon lights lit up at night 🔥

Great location in Bel Alton, MD not far south of LA Plata, MD. Across the highway from Apehangers. Old style soda machines with old style prices. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Affordable prices.
