Bel Aire Motel (Open A) - Featured Reviews (242)
What a great experience! Staff was in a meeting when we arrived but answered promptly when we called and came to greet us with a smile. We laughed and joked while checking in, she recommended a GREAT place to eat. Room was clean and comfortable. The ONLY change we’d suggest is mini fridges in tne rooms but, we are happy to bring a cooler on our next trip. Thanks to y’all for a wonderful stay!!
So I booked this motel after seeing it under new ownership and what seemed to have nice renovations internally. Sadly for me the whole situation has kind of been a waste. I booked a 4 night stay, booking through their own website which seemed to have ALOT of bugs and glitches which has proven true. I was hoping that going through their website would provide the owners with a higher take home than any booking/expedia fees. The website gave a helpful option to convert the room price to CAD and came out to show $651 with the previous evening checking and showing $476usd. Seemed reasonable so booked. Upon arriving and checking in, I get a notification from my credit card provider that over $900cad had been charged for my stay. I’ve asked the front counter member who commented that “this wasn’t in his pay grade” and since been trying to deal with Kolby the gm here with no news or reply. Seems to be a case of ignorance is bliss and that when I check out on Monday it’ll just be a case that I’ve had my stay and tough s**t. ||The room itself was nice, useful appliances and spruced up decor. Rooms are a bit dirty, hand prints on the door as the doors don’t close properly and are falling apart and just sprayed paint to spruce them up externally. Messy half completed work on some items in the room decor wise too. ||Bed is comfy, nice TV, but for multiple night stays it doesn’t seem to get room service or coffee replenished. ||Overall decent stay but sadly with the false advertisement on their website and reluctance to communicate with me to even comp one evening and acknowledge their fault it’s resulted to this review. Which will be posted across many many review sites.
On the surface the renovations look nice but this motel was not very clean. The floors were really dirty (and it wasn’t just dust from the construction). The air conditioning unit was old, loud and the vents were also pretty dirty. The man who checked me in seemed really unhappy and wasn’t very welcoming - which was off-putting for a solo traveler. When I mentioned that the room wasn’t clean he said it would be taken care of in the morning but nothing happened. My key card didn’t work at first when I checked in and then it stopped working at one point in the morning. I did meet the owner in the morning and he was very nice and allowed me to checkout a little late. While the location is great I would not stay here again.
I though it was really a charming room. I saw what the place used to look like, and the new owners really did a good job. The room was clean, the bed spreads were nice, the cute little 50s phone was a nice touch! Constructive critisism: when we checked in, there was a $50 deposit that they did not tell me about when I booked the room. Would have been helpful to know this information before hand. The AC broke the following day (its August) and the wifi didn't work until we called and complained a couple times. The assistant/building super was very friendly. It would be beneficial for a better guest experience if the owners would hire someone to be there at all times (like a night audit or concierge) as we had to wait a few hours for them to fix the ac and put a wifi hotspot in. But all in all I had a good experience.
This was an amazing stay! The staff was kind, prompt and very hospitable. The rooms are newly updated with a lot of charm. The location is great to walk to the university and in the heart of Missoula. A bonus was it was super affordable. We will definitely be back and I recommend this stay to anyone!
I have never been to the old Bel Aire, so I have nothing to compare, but the new building was very beautiful. The renovation work is lovely and the place was very clean. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It was a nice and peaceful experience. Clean bathrooms, hot water, good shower pressure. The front desk man named Sean (Shawn?) was very kind. He was very helpful and patient. Great service for sure! I would definitely stay here again! Also pet friendly for a small fee!
Newly renovated motel, but our room was cute and clean! No fridge in the room, but we made it work and they offered ice in the lobby. Location was amazing to downtown, and Caras park. The price was a lot cheaper than other hotels nearby. Showers have shampoo, soap, and conditioner dispensers that were nice. Would definitely recommend and stay at again when back in Missoula.
Little gem of a place I found after a long drive. Rooms were recently renovated and you can tell instantaneously. Close to downtown so everything is walking distance. Would definitely recommend and plan on staying here again!

Stopped here for lunch right when they opened on a Tuesday. There's a reason they have a complete 5 star rating, this place is amazing. Locally owned, food was delicious and prepared quickly, and we definitely did not leave hungry. Will definitely be
