Bel Air Motel - Motel in Wildwood - 5510 Ocean Ave, USA

Book a partial ocean view on the second floor. Its the corner room above the office. I have attached photos. We have stayed here 3x, and this room was definitely the nicest (not the largest). The rooms are simple - some better than others. It depends on what youre looking for in a stay… my young kids liked it, but its not for everyone .. its a good location- one block in front of the beachfront hotels and one block from the south boardwalk beginning. This is a family owned and operated hotel. They are very kind. I appreciated their hospitality. However, i do NOT like that smoking is allowed outside the rooms. I know that there is always pressure towards management from smokers to allow it; just saying i don’t appreciate it. ||Thanks again Bel Air for a fun 1 night stay. My most recent stay was August 13 to the 15th with my family. I know some people write really bad reviews about this hotel but let me tell you it was phenomenal. They took such good care of us. The room was beautiful. The pool was beautiful and I watched it cleaned every night. Anything you need they are there to help you. They even offered early check-in. If the room was ready they offer maid service every day. You just have to ask. Kolli and Ketu were amazing !! Don’t believe any of the bad reviews if you want a nice place to stay one block from the boardwalk one block from the beach with plenty of convenient stores around this is the place to go family friendly. We loved it and will be back again and again.!!

We came back for another stay at the Bel Air Motel. As is the custom, it was perfect. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom a stunning pristine blue and yellow ( Owners - please never update them, Please !!) We scored the funky shaped little room in the corner. It was so darn cute, you can't imagine. It was a it rainy so we didn't use the pool, but I did get to sit with my feet in it. It was clean and pretty. The owners are always kind and helpful. I am counting the days til coming back in the fall.

Bel Air provided a great location to the beach and the boardwalk entrance - however, the level of service was horrible. We had a long reservation from Friday to the following Thursday. We had turn down service ONCE that entire time and had to ask for that. My brother and his two boys used the room first until we arrived. We had come from the western US and had a long flight and long drive to Wildwood but were excited to be at the beach. As we prepared to go to bed Sunday evening, we opened the hide-a-bed for one of my kids to sleep there. We were shocked to see what was on the bed and the lack of cleanliness provided. As you can see in the photo, the folded sheet was filthy. Blood and dirt stains on it. Since it was later at night, I moved my daughter to the other room to share a bed. The next morning I made the “management” aware and of the sheet. Their front desk person seemed very confused and didn’t provide much help. Finally someone who must be who the maids report to, got involved. She too was shocked and got the room sheets changed on all beds. While we appreciate the attention at the time, NOTHING was offered for our terrible bed condition. They just played it off and ignored it like new sheets solved it all. Something should have been offered for our experience. Fast forward to the check out on Thursday, we went to check out and told the front desk that we felt we needed some sort of explanation and compensation for the filth we dealt with. We got nothing but push back and even blame for the sheets condition. They called someone who was on her way in and she said it was us, we asked for the manager and got no offer. We have emailed and tried to resolve this - with NO response. That check out date was June 20. It is now July 8. No owner involvement, told we can’t talk to the “manager” and they ignore us thinking we will go away. Due to no response, our next step is taking this to the board of health. Wanted to put it on here as well so others who were thinking of this location knew of another customer experience. They even tried to blame my brother and his two small boys who were in the room before we arrived. They did not use the couch bed and we told them that.

We just recently stayed for 2 nights. We booked with 7 children & paid for 7 children but they told us different and charged us more at check in. The beds were beyond dirty. You pull the blankets all the way down and we found hair along with a broken spoon. None of that would have been there if they were taken off and cleaned. Our first night there my daughter was brushing her teeth in room 104 and the sink fell into her hands. We alerted the front desk and they said to hang it back on the hooks and it would be fine that maintenence man left for the night. We did as told and they came in to take a photo. Once the photo was taken we all turned around including the worker and the sink fell off the wall smashing around my daughter. This sink was never bolted to the wall. They came back in and cleaned the sink up but never vacuumed then laid towels around the bathroom floor. I had to sit and pick glass out of the carpet so myself and my children didn't step on it. Parking is absolutely horrible, no space to get yourself out of your car. Not somewhere we will be staying in the future.

Great proximity to the beach, a bit far from the actual attractions of the boardwalk. Rooms basic, stains on the couch furniture old and tattered, mostly everything in there has been refurbished or fixed, bathroom not clean, had to sanitize before my family could use, and staff is very confused. No lifeguards, you have to clean the pool yourself, pool close at 7:30. Honestly if we had time we would have booked a better lodging but the trip was last minute, despite the imperfections my family had a good time together, but when we went to leave my husband noticed his expensive glasses missing when asked to address the issue they became dismissive and unapologetic about the situation they basically said we were lying. Very unprofessional workers.

Staff was very accommodating. Room was clean. When one of the air condtioners stopped working, we were moved to another room that was available. Very professional and good customer service for management to do that. Close to the beach and boardwalk. We enjoyed our three night stay.

Revising my original review I came here looking for recent reviews to see if anything had improved from our last stay, but it seems that it has not. I have been coming to the Bel Air Motel for more than 10 years and like the other recent posts I will not be coming back. I did not realize until we arrived that management/ownership had changed. For years we have come down for multiple, quick two or three day trips during the summer. When we arrived for a one-night stay we were met by a child who was working the front desk. She did not have a room available for us and told us to come back. When we came back later in the day at the scheduled check-in time we were told there was no room available. I then asked to speak with someone else. A very rude woman finally came out of the back. She told me I did not have a reservation, in which I showed her the confirmation email from booking online. She then proceeded to say there was one room available, but it was not ready. We then waited another hour at the pool. When the room was ready we walked into a 1 bed, tiny end room, there were four of us. I then went back to the front desk where I was told that there is another room that had not been checked into, but that person would be upset to have to change rooms. It was the most bizarre, unprofessional, disgustingly rude conversation back and forth about how I didn't have a real reservation, I booked too late, the other customer booked that room, and so on until I had to demand that room or to refund me on the spot and I would go elsewhere. At some point a gentleman who at least had the common decency to not be outright rude approached and got us the keys for the open room. I was in such disbelief that the sweet family run motel was taken over by people who have no clue how to run a business or even have a thread of professionalism. I am saddened that we will not be returning. It is an outdated, old motel (like most in wildwood) but it was always clean, the owners were just so sweet, and it is a perfect location, and always a reasonable price. Truly so sad that the new ownership over the past 2 years has run a wonderful place to stay into the ground. I hope they learn that people stay there for the hospitality. The price has significantly increased and the service has decreased.
