Beech Tree Cottages - Hotel in Madison - 1187 Boston Post Rd, USA

What a gem! We come back year after year! The cottages are absolutely adorable, very comfortable, and clean. The location is fantastic, so close to Hammonasset State Park, the beach, and shoreline dining. The owners are the best, they are kind, accommodating, and they remember us every year. We've stayed in several different cottages (both small and large) and have been happy with every visit! A perfect alternative to a crowded hotel. Easy parking, beautiful grounds. You won't be disappointed!

Poor value and in need of major work. No fridge in the cabin. Poor lighting. Musty smell. No coat hangers on hanging rack. |Road noise. Parking about 150 metres away not adjacent to cabins if have heavy luggage. Very dated.|Beware that there are mosquitoes outside. |Bed was comfortable.

Staff was very friendly & property was nice and maintained.||Stayed in cottage #2 - seemed as though it was in the middle of repairs or updates were forgotten about. Half of the ceiling in the kitchen was painted, there was spackling on walls, etc. ||When we arrived, there were multiple big spiders on the bedroom ceiling & the shower was dirty. ||Bed was uncomfortable and the bed frame on wheels was unexpected and inconvenient.||Some suggestions for improvement: finish repairs/renovations, provide extra towels in bathroom (only 2), provide tissues, add liner for shower as water gets all over the floor, update blinds to cover entire window.

I attended a wedding at Beech Tree Cottages, and spent some time in cottage 6. The cottages were lovely and had an air conditioning unit which was very helpful on a hot July day! The staff was absolutely kind and helpful. I ended up forgetting an item in the cottage and called them the next morning. They said they would check for it, called back to confirm they found it, and sent it back to me. They even covered the small shipping charge! I would highly recommend. Thank you, Beech Tree, so much for your kindness and help.

Very nice, cozy, clean and charming hideaway. Tucked away behind tall trees and schrubs off of route 1. A minute from Hammonasett Beach and cute Madison.CT town. The large cabin was roomy with a couch and chair and the bedroom had a comfortable bed and closet. Both rooms had a window a/c unite as well as ceiling fans. The kitchenette was nice with a great coffee maker and microwave.||Recommend it highly||||Definitely will return.

What a wonderful place to stay! We were visiting our son in New Haven and wanted to stay near the ocean so we found this place online. It was perfect for our needs and incredibly close to Hammonasset State Pak which was a great place to hike and breathe in ocean air. Great restaurants nearby. Our cottage was simple but not rustic, and very comfortable and beautiful. The customer service was excellent, especially squeezing us in before the official season began. Loved our time there and would highly recommend!

We finally stopped in for ice cream and so delighted we did. They bring the delicious goodness from “Upstate” I overheard. Pricing was on point too. Cash is easy enough at these prices. The best part is the over all composition of the experience. Sea view, ice cream, cute as a button cottages, retail therapy next door. Come for the ice cream, stay for the salty air and people watching.

Stayed in Cottage 3. Updates must've been made since previous reviews, since our mattresses were super comfortable. The outdoor furniture was also comfortable. I sat outdoors with the outdoor light off because, yes, there were many bugs since it was mid summer. I plan on rebooking next summer.
