Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center - Featured Reviews (1804)
Nice room and bathroom. Comfortable bed and linens. The room numbering is exceptionally confusing. First you have to find your building, then find a 5-digit room number. It was super convenient to stay in the same location as the conference I was attending. I appreciated the water bottle fill stations throughout the resort, the easy access to the Breckenridge shuttle, and the option for a hotel shuttle to town. It was unusual to me that there was no ice machine in my building and I had to go one building over for ice. We also had to go one building over to access the parking garage, as the elevator to the garage in our building was out of order for the whole stay. The shop was really convenient with made to order food options and Starbucks, but the prices were wild. Would stay there again, but can’t give 5 stars..
Location, location, location. This hotel has it. Unfortunately, that's pretty much all it has. It is severely out of date and needs to either be scraped and rebuilt, or gutted and completely renovated. The rooms are small, dark, and awkwardly laid out. My room had no air conditioning, which might not be a big deal in the winter but is a deal breaker in the summer. No outlets near the bed. The room still has a popcorn ceiling for crying out loud. The rest of the facility is confusingly laid out, with awkward little stairways, elevators which only move between certain floors. Signage is poor. Do yourself a favor and give this place a miss.
The staff at check-in are always professional and welcoming. Checking in is quick and easy. The Resort is always kept very clean and neat. The service staff is always friendly, helpful, quick with a smile and a kind word. The location in the forested mountains is ideal for outdoor activities or just relaxing and enjoying the views. My wife and I have been coming here for a number of years and will continue to keep it in our rotation of travel destinations for years to come.
We attended Beerfest July 15 and had the Beer Tasting Dinner at Spencer's the night before. The dinner was 5-star. It compared with any fine restaurant I have eaten at. The food was subtle and sophisticated and the paired beers were out of this world. There's a new food manager and chef there and I give them top rating. Beerfest itself was busier than in years past but quite enjoyable. Very good vendors and well managed.
Stayed here one night for a quick summer getaway. Location is pretty good; easy walk to downtown or a few trails. Room was pretty good and was clean and in good order. But everything begs for an update, feels and looks about 25 years old. Kitchenette seemed well-appointed, though we didn’t use it. But main issue was the bedding situation. Pillows were literally half sized little squares. And bed was fairly rigid and lumpy. And we had a rather tough time cooling it off enough to our liking, as the rooms have no AC nor a sufficient way to pull in the cool night air. I’ll look for another option when we return to Breckenridge.
Hello! What a goregous location and amenities, but those beds are the worst I've ever slept in. We actually changed our flight a day early just to go home to our own beds. The queen bed had no support and the couch pull out was just as bad. Two choices and it still had me rebook my flight to go home. Other than that... great service and enjoyed our time.
Over the last few years, we have stayed here during the winter season and this week we stayed during the "mud season". Big mistake. First, this is not an "A" property, but a B at best. Some units are updated from their 1970s decor, but generally speaking it doesn't offer the amenities or cleanliness of more modern properties. We came in the off-season expecting to get a choice of rooms, but absolutely not. First floor facing the parking lot, refused to even consider letting us be on the back side facing the mountain. We virtually were the only people in the place. The front desk was completely less than honest saying that "this is the only room we have clean". At the end, they sprung on us the resort charge and we had to pay for parking. If you come in the ski season, be prepared to keep your window open at night; there is no air conditioning and the heating system is baseboard; yesterday's news. The only reason we stay here is because we are older and don't like to walk far in our ski boots. Don't pay a lot of money to stay here, it's a second to third class property.
This review is in the order from good, neutral, to bad. First, the best things are the location and the full size kitchen in the suite. That's all I can say.
Now to the neutral. 1) Regarding the indoor design, I don't know if one would call it "modern rustic" or just old-fashioned - in any case I am neutral in this regard. 2) The lack of AC didn't bother me thanks to the cool weather. I imagine it would be a big problem in the summer but I'm not taking any points off. 3) The Skywalk Market is extremely overpriced for the quality of food. I recommend eating elsewhere unless you're really short on time.
Two things really bothered me. 1) Lack of soundproof. The snoring in the shorter video came from my neighbor; it's not through the wall being filmed (kitchen), but *in the opposite end of the room* (turn around and go all the way to the end - see photo). Our rooms are separated by just a wooden door with noticeable gaps all around. So why am I filming in the kitchen...? 2) Because there are animals in the wall! In the longer video you can hear scratching/gnawing sounds on the pipes. I know this sound is not from my other neighbor across the wall but must be from within.
There was some party at 2am this morning at King's Ridge Condo nearby that woke me up. Around 10-20 people were yelling in the streets. I left them a 1-star review - I'm not taking this on Beaver Run. I came here for a vacation but being jetlagged without a good night's sleep has made the experience very miserable.

Loved the salsas and rose pork. Wish there was more avocado and tomato, but Iâve never had tlayudas before. Very tasty! Also had a breakfast burrito (no pic) and it was bomb.
Craved a flavorful, tasty and fresh meal after wandering the town. I am lucky to have found Mount Golian Grill. This restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and cozy. The food was phenomenal and the service was great. I can only highly recommend it.
