Bear River State Park - State park in Evanston - 601 Bear River Dr, USA

Kinda a nice spot. River was lovely to be near. The animals in the enclosures felt a bit random. Wife got mad at me because this is where we realized I only packed one bike for our kiddo, and not two, and apparently we had discussed packing both of them, so yeah, we had fun not biking around at this seemingly nice spot.

Love taking my family here! Always great seeing the animals and plenty of walking/biking trails etc. It’s great having something like this close to home. Gives you a place to go and get out of the house for some fresh air. Seen many deer and moose there as well!

I can be kinda picky when it comes to local and state parks, but this one was actually pretty nice. The bathrooms were well maintained and there were trails EVERYWHERE! There were dozens of people visiting in the morning, yet there was plenty of parking and space for it to not feel overcrowded. Definitely the hidden gem of Evanston.

Pretty landscape and the Buffalo were a site of the west continental divide.

My mom and I came through on a trip and stopped here to stretch our legs and walk our dog. It’s a beautiful state park with plenty of parking and a playground for little ones. They have a bathroom house with flushable toilets but no sinks. There are trail maps set up around the state park as well as other informative signs. The parking is right along the river and there is also a trail that gives you plenty of access points to it. They have to enclosed areas one housing bison and the other elk. The state park is right next to the Rio Oso MTB trails and is also conveniently located off of I80. It is a day use only state park but is free. We would definitely come back and highly recommended. Everyone including my husband and I drive through Bear River Park everyday. We love the buffalo and elk. It's a good place to walk around and have picnics and some have reunions here. We drive our dog around town two or three times a day and this is the happening place not just for those of us who live here but lots of out of state people come here.

Beautiful park with walking paths along the river, exercise points to get your workout in, soccer fields, picnic areas and a pond with boat rentals. There is a memorial garden where trees are planted in between plaques with names of people that have passed on.

This place is super awesome. It's the exit before the Wyoming Welcome Center on 80. There's a penned viewing area for buffalo (including two white buffalo!) And elk. Also came across a moose while doing the loop hike.
