This lake is very popular with locals. The campground is separated from day use area and was very peaceful and quiet. Flushing toilets. Coin operated showers. $1.00 for 5 min. It seemed like the water ran longer than 5 minutes. Bathrooms were cleaned every morning.
Definitely close to the city as you can still hear the highway, but it’s still a great outdoor space! The ranger helped with ants our first night and it was a great getaway for the weekend.
I am glad i paid $ for the lake pass. We can go in and swim at the lake the entire summer and dont have to wait in the drive up lane to get in. We stayed in a cabin and it was fun.
Nice CG. Spacious, good views, decent site spacing, certainly not crowded in Oct. No shade trees. Reasonably priced (these days!) at about $35/ night for 30amp back-in site. Water fill station on perimeter entry road, and spigots around park; 2-vehicle dump station on perimeter exit road. 2+ miles from E470 exit. This is NOT a Colo. State Park; it is a City of Lakewood 2800-acre open space park with lakes, trails, campground & RV park. Lots of outdoor activities are available in park.
We tend after a concert at Red rocks. They need reflectors on their roads so you can see them and they should allow people to set up their tents on the grass
Great location, but does not have full hookups.
Let me be clear: this is a Campground, Google, so there are no "rooms". There are 46 campsites, a rentable yurt, and 3 tiny rentable cabins. The campground is almost treeless. There is potable water. The campground is bounded by a bike path and a couple of hiking trails along Turkey Creek. Check out amenities for Bear Creek Lake PARK (vs. CAMPGROUND) on the website,
Have been using the group loop for 6 years ... Great in town campground. Not that it is next to both 470 & 285, so you can get traffic noise. Also note that there is significant light pollution and nearby interchange lights. The group loop does not have much vegatation nor does it have trees, but does have its own restroom next to the loop, 2 water spigots, 5 picnic tables and 6 electric hookup spots. Can be quite windy and no available cover. As long as you are prepared it is an easy spot for in town camping, our cub scout pack uses it every year.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a marvel. A natural amphitheater modified by man for seating and performance. It is the center piece of the park and many Band play the location. Bare Naked Ladies actually recorded an album there. Enjoy the awe of the nat
Very nice hike. Highly trafficked, although less so once you get on the Walker's Dream section of the trail. Lots of mountain bikers. Great views of the front range. Very manageable if you leave from the West Parking lot trailhead.
Walkerâs Dream Lookout is a great side trail to take when hiking around Mount Falcon. John Walker (entrepreneur and one of the original founders of Red Rocks Amphitheater) had a grandiose vision of a summer Whitehouse perched on Mount Falcon with
I had the pleasure to walk the panorama point trail at Corwina and it was really mind blowing. We started the hike at 7:30 am; just in time for sunrise. It was a brisk hike that is truly in between easy to moderate with a great view up on the top. I
This was an amazing experience for our family! It was about a 2 mile walk up to the top and back, and the footprints, bone fossils, and ripples from the water that was once this high were absolutely incredible. We had our three little kids in a strol
This place is fun for every age! It is all VERY impressive. The walk is a bit uphill, but it is all paved. They do offer a shuttle for a small fee. There are a few trails to walk or bike . The views are amazing no matter which direction you look. We
This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Colorado. Amazing cocktails, delicious food in good portions! The staff is always friendly and helpful. The wait staff is always gracious and accommodating for my disabled mother. I can't say enough g
This place is fantastic!! Unique, cozy, outstanding food. Such a welcome gem! Chilean sea bass special was so unusual and quite honestly perfect. Get it before it's gone! All of the other food was excellent as well. Tawny port flight was the cherry o
