Beacon Inn - Hotel in Brookline - 1087 Beacon St, USA

This review is based on poor customer service. We had a 2 night stay in a first floor room. Day 2 we had left for the day to go to a Red Sox game. Came back to our room and immediately noticed some of our bathroom items had been moved but figured it was because they had cleaned the room because also the beds were made. I used the restroom. As I stood in front of the sink I saw water drip from the ceiling so I looked up and saw several ceiling tiles gone, dirty water spots in the sink, and noticed the socks I was wearing were getting wet from where I was standing in front of the sink. It became obvious there had been a major water leak. We then noticed several of our personal items were either soaking wet or were gone all together. One missing item was an electric toothbrush and one thing that got wet was a handmade leather toiletries bag. We immediately told the front desk staff on duty. He said he knew that there had been a leak in the room above ours but didn’t know that our room had been affected. He got on the phone with someone and said the person who handled it claimed he hadn’t done anything with our personal items even though they were gone. No one had bothered to contact us when the leak happened to let us know. I understand this is an old converted building and leaks happen, but to not even call us to let us know it happened and just let us find everything the way we did? The desk staff person did move us to another room on our insistence, which was good, but it has now been 2 weeks since our stay and they have not done anything to remedy the inconvenience of this experience or the fact that some of our personal items were destroyed and some missing. No one was available at the desk to talk to later that evening or the next morning even though it was after 8am on a Monday. Someone called us after we returned home and asked us to “prove” that our items were ruined or missing (prove you once had something and now you don’t??) and never offered to give us a refund, even partially, for our stay. Needless to say, we will not be staying here ever again due to the poor customer service by the management.

We have stayed here for several night. Everything was fine until last night. I paid for my room in full thru booking,com and all of a sudden the management knocks on the door saying we didn’t pay and had some white ppl behind her waiting to go in. My bf and I are people of color and we felt absolutely disrespected. How can u kick someone out when their room was alrdy paid for? The receipt was alrdy signed so that indicates the room has been paid. Then the owner chased us out in the morning saying we weren’t allowed back there. This is the utmost disrespect and unprofessional behavior I have ever been subjected to

Poor… DO NOT RECOMMEND! The location of the hotel is great. It’s the only positive aspect. The room was not clean. There was hair in the bed and the sheets didn't look changed… The hotel requires you to hand over your car keys when you reserve parking. They also require a copy of your driver's license. Despite the strangeness of the requests, we agreed. We were shocked to learn that your car keys would be left in a box (at reception) for all to see, and in an unlocked box at that. The poor management of the parking lot and the inability of the hotel staff to recognize the strangeness and discomfort of the situation. The reason: the hotel employee must be able to move your car if necessary. 33USD/D for that? I was totally uncomfortable with the situation. The risk of accidents/theft is not taken into consideration. Lack of professionalism Too expensive for the quality of the hotel/staff/services

Charming guest house! Gracious accommodations, great staff, easy access to the Green line C train. Very clean, comfortable & reasonably priced!

I had very small room!! Tiny one with outside washroom which nothing notified in the web and we asked for refund but no senior was responding to us! Was embarrassed with my fiancé and had to pay for other room in other hotel! As least get us clean room. Was disappointed, you hardly walk in the room

Do NOT BOOK THIS, The most terrible experience ever, the steal my money, and I paid extra for parking “on the street”, no restroom, you have to use the holway public restroom! Do not book this

+: beautifully appointed bedroom and comfy bed, front desk guy was nice, good location -: no sound privacy whatsoever, front desk worker chatting on the phone/neighbor playing piano/street noise all come right into the room. Terrible water pressure in shower. And worst of all, room smelled like poop in the room when it rained? Maybe from someone's dog on the street? Kinda feels like you're at someone's house but not in the best way

Great location. Sheets were clean, room was filthy, dust bunnies everywhere, grime on blinds, dirty shower etc. Would not recommend.
