Great place. Take the family. The water had waves so high. It was like being out of ocean. Even though I know we were Lake Michigan, the water was very cold, numbing in fact but boy it was fun
Terrific sledding hills for all ages. Two fast hills, I'd ideal for individuals that have experienced sledding. For beginners or novices I'd wait until the hills are not so busy. Playground for this not wanting to sled and evenings the park hold a fire pit so bring your wood and warm up with hot cocoa.
This place is very busy and not safe for young children. People are not good people they steal people's sleds (they all look the same). They are rude and frankly people get hurt. The hills are super slick and fast and people don't take turns well. If you are looking for family fun , probably not your spot.
Great place ofgering various levels of difficulty for exercise. Bike trail, dune trails, fitness equipment, paddle ball court, and playground for kids. Picinic tables, Pavillion and restrooms. A short walk to the beach. One of our favs.
This is HOME to me... Big, Beautiful Lake Michigan! No Salt Added 💛💙
Decently good size sled Hill! Went early before noon and beat the crowd! There are two hills with stairs on each side and some "secret starting spots" There is a fire pit if you bring your own wood and could make quite the day out of it!
Had a great day, the only problem that keeps arising, though, is people keep bringing their dogs on the beach. It's hot outside and no shade, and they are bringing their pets on HOT sand that yes is hot on our feet.
Love this little spot. Minus finding out the next day I had caught a mild case of swimmers itch. We will be making this a regular summer lake spot!
Fantastic walk, particularly for those with limited mobility on the south side loops. The bridges might be a challenge but they are optional. The upgrades and maintenance has been great but I wish there were more trash cans. They've recently replaced
We've camped many times at Pioneer Park through the years. As always, the park is clean, camping sites are nice, the kids love the playground, and access to the beach is awesome.
Yo this place is awesome. They welcome everyone with open arms. The instructors have great attitudes towards the sport, all the students are great people to work with. If you are a beginner or an expert you must come to this school!!
