Visiting the first school for African American children in Savannah. As a former Principal, I felt honored to be in the space. I learned a lot that I never knew I didn't know. I suggest people join the African American Freedom Trail Tour when you come visit. Everyday 1pm and 3pm. They meet at the Savannah Visitors Center.
I visited through the Freedom Trail Tours with Mr. Johnny Brown. It was superb from start to finish! The best tour in Savannah, in my opinion!
Very informative. Beautiful school. Lots of artifacts.
Very, very educational and informative. I found truth and great appreciation for the past. The Almighty God really , really inspired men and granted wisdom in the journey to freedom. The collaborative efforts of both black and white men is notable. The artwork was mind-blowing and could have only been God inspired. I was motivated to embrace the future, with a great appreciation for the strides made in the black community. I left cognizant of similarities in behaviors from the past, still seen today; But, knowing that God is still at work.
Had a great time! We had a tour guide so us around when we went but you can definitely visit on your own. They have a store front where you can buy information about African American history in significantly more detail than you would normally learn about. They also sell merchandise from local businesses in the area.
I had a wonderful experience at the Beach Institute today. I lived in Savannah for 7 years and never took the time to visit. Mr. Winbush gave me a personal tour. He's incredibly knowledgeable and such a wonderful man.
This place is a must see if you want to learn more about African-American Culture during and after the slavery era in Georgia. Interesting facts to be learned.
This was the best and most informative tour I’ve experienced in a while. Mr Winbush was cache of relevant knowledge. The art work was exquisite. This is a hidden Gem! Please take the time to visit this Oasis!

I love art museums! This one was in such a lovely setting. I was unfamiliar with the artists but felt like the collection was beautifully selected for the many expressions of the people depicted. It was a good balance of landscape and people. I love
Perfect place for a small wedding ceremony. Reasonable pricing. Sheena was absolutely amazing to work with and so sweet. It would be nice if they had their own chairs that you can pay extra for, which would be my only very small complaint. Definitely
My 9 yr old requested to go visit this museum and SCAD did not disappoint him at all. He was impressed with everything and that he could interact with the displays. Through the eyes of a child this museum gets a 10/10!

Was traveling through and had the privilege of working out with a fun and talented group. The online sign up was super easy, was able to sign my waiver and reserve a class in a jiff. The gym was conveniently located and a quick walk from my hotel. T

Great place to stay. The only thing that could have made our stay better would be a better mattress in our room. You are literally so close to a perfect review, but the mattresses need improvement!
We were visitors at this studio for the day during our trip to Savannah. We absolutely loved the spaciousness of the lobby and the studio. They had the new treads. The rowers are closer together than some other studios but the floor was super spaciou
