This place was recommended to us by my dad who stayed here before. We got the family suite which was perfect for our family of six. Everything was clean and felt safe. The staff was really accommodating. The location was also a really easy walk to the beach and shops. The view wasn’t great in that room, could only see a sliver of the beach and a lot of the alley, but I didn’t mind.
The location is wonderful. Walking to downtown, the pier and the boardwalk. Our room (The Aloha) had an extra large balcony and great view of the ocean had a wonderful visit in the Spring. The weather was perfect. Having said that, there is no air conditioning and Pismo can get warm in the Summer.
Excellent location! You are steps away from Pismo pier and beach. Back of your alley is Splash Cafe and all touristy shops, restaurants and within 5 min walk is Old West Cinnamon Roll.
Rooms include a kitchenette, a full refrigerator, 2 stove tops, a full microwave, and a good-sized sink with all your cooking hardware and eating/drinking utensils. The bathroom is spacious with a window and exhaust fan. Loved the patio deck. It was large enough to hold 6 people comfortably. Included a round table with 4 chairs and a comfortable bench.
The staff was friendly and accommodating during our stay. For little ones, they have boogie boards and sand toys to use if you forgot yours in the parking garage. You can also leave your beach toys for the next family to utilize as well. We left a boogie board and water tubes. I thought that was awesome.
If you want to enjoy Pismo Beach with family and friends, this is one of the best hotels suites to stay in.
Amazing rooms and views. Our balcony has a partial beach view but is absolutely amazing and we got a amazing deal on the room.
This hotel certainly has great potential but lacks in several important areas that do not allow for a great review. The location is convenient to so many of the area attractions, parking garage is small but nice with enclosed parking and a security gate. The rooms have been decorated with much thoughtfulness and the furniture was nice. TV needs updating, screen doors need to be replaced and or repaired so they will slide with ease. Onsite staff for more than just a few hours per day is highly recommended. We were placed in the wrong room and fully unpacked when we were asked about moving....not convenient to us so we let it go. Our room had a fireplace which was inoperable, some burnt out bathroom lighting and towels not even adequate for 2 people. We received no housekeeping services whatsoever and when we addressed it with the staff he blamed it on us and said we needed to put out the sign requesting service. Only problem we had no sign and we were never told about this policy. We had to go retrieve our own towels and coffee supplies from the housekeeping ladies, empty our trash, make up our bed and perhaps this sounds petty but we paid a most handsome price for this room and did not expect these issues. We did advise the staff of the burnt out light and fireplace not working and he just shrugged and seemed indifferent. Very friendly young man but did not seem eager to remedy any guest issues. We also advised him that our neighbor was smoking on the balcony and it was drifting into our room.....no comment whatsoever even though this is advertised as a non smoking hotel and there is a sign on each door indicating no smoking in the room or on the balcony. We would not stay here again nor recommend it due to the cost and disinterest in our concerns during our stay.
Unfortunately the room had no screen on the door to the patio so flies and gnats flew out in. Management knew about it but their solution was we not them needed to put out jugs of water to keep the bugs away?! Seriously?! No discount or move us to another room. Why would you put someone in a room you wouldn’t stay in? We’ve stayed here before twice but won’t be back. Obviously going downhill.
Overall, it was great. Pros and cons!
Pros:
-the location is just right. Steps from the ocean, steps from downtown, but not noisy at night
-so much space in the hotel room! We stayed in a family suite, and it had a nice sized living room, a kitchenette stocked with plates, utensils, pots, even a toaster. The bathroom was also very big.
-nice beach decor, you can tell the person who styles the rooms takes pride in it
-soft bed that was comfortable
-full size ironing board and iron, plus a hairdryer and full length mirror
-WiFi, ice machine, and remotes all worked
-never heard anyone making noise in neighboring rooms
-reasonable price
-definitely no ant problem, we left our food out overnight and never saw any ants
- they have the kind of locks where you just wave the card in front of the door and it unlocked, so you don’t have to worry about sliding the card correctly
Cons
- No air conditioning. This alone will stop me from staying there in the summer, even though it doesn’t get too hot there, I need AC
- swarms of flies hovering outside the doors during the daytime above all the little drains on our floor (second floor). Unfortunately the drains are every few steps, so it was gross. Thankfully there was not a fly problem once you get inside the room.
- they charge extra per kid (maybe even per person). We had to pay an extra $40 for our 2 year old, and they were sure to not only text us TWICE confirming how many people were in our party, but also ask during the reservation and at check in.
- Some of the linens (all white) were clean, but somewhat dingy. Probably just from age, and maybe I’m just being picky.
- the pillows are hard and uncomfortable, just bring your own
Overall, I think it is a nice place and we really enjoyed our stay!
We highly recommend staying here. It's so close to the beach and pier and Splash Cafe among other popular eateries. The room was adorable, the fireplace feature super cool and the partial view, well, partial, but good nonetheless. There's a tiny coffee pot with good coffee and an assortment of flavored cleaners. It was a nice perk. The shower was big and the water temp and stream steady. The only drawback, the bed was too stiff for my liking but my hubby was good with it. Parking on-site is covered and gated. Key cards worked great without issue. The office staff person was very nice and wecoming. That's always a good feel. We'd stay here again, for sure.
We love staying here! Every room has an ocean view and when we stay on upper levels we love keeping the sliding door open so we can hear the ocean waves and feel the fresh air. Very cool town as well. We love to go into town for food and San Luis Obi
Best ocean front experience so far.
The room is clean and refreshing.
The view is amazing during sunset.
Honey birds around your patio.
Not partial ocean view, just ocean view.
Breakfast is fine, but the view is nice.
Private cove (small rock beach,
Definitely recommend this hotel. Great service. Room was super clean and nothing was missing. Nice play area with playground, table tennis... Etc. The views from the hotel and from the rooms (ocean front rooms) are spectacular. There's a trail that r
Friendly staff, gorgeous-view oceanfront rooms, and dog friendly. Really enjoyed having a glass of wine on top of the cliff watching the sunset. It's also really nice being able to walk so far on the clifftop walk from hotel to hotel. Some minor issu
A few friends and I walked in for some late night tacos. Even though we walked in 10 minutes before closing, the workers were so kind and accommodating. I was astonished at the unique meat options I have never seen elsewhere! I always go for a classi
Beautiful little park on the cliffs overlooking Pismo beach. Toys/ playground was very busy when we were there. A nice path goes along the cliff with lots of places to sit and enjoy the views
If you are a foodie, then you should certainly check out this place! Bobbie is great! I found out about this sandwich/bread shop and am so glad I did! It is one of those LOCAL treats that you may pass by if you did not look for it, I know I did until
Visited this location close to sunset on our way back to Pismo from the Hearst Castle. The grounds are very interesting and beautiful. The entire visit lasted about one hour and cost $20 for two adults, kids are free. I look forward to being able to
This little overlook provides an amazing view! It wasnât super busy, but itâs surprisingly chilly out so it may be that. Plenty of room for the kiddos to run around and play, just be careful of the construction areas!
Wonderful experience in December. Not overly crowded, weather was wonderful. I even found a wild honey bee hive in a tree along the road when we parked. Beach was beautiful as well. White sand beach.
Worth the wait. There is a small outdoor area to sit and eat but no indoor seating. Everything is basically "to-go". That being said it is sooooo good. One of tge places you will go again and again. Biscuits are delicious but the chorizo tacos are ou
