Beach House Dewey - Hotel in Dewey Beach - 1710 Coastal Hwy, USA

Excellent location, you could walk to almost everything in Dewey within a few blocks. The beach is a quick walk also. The rooms were clean and had lots of storage space for your belongings. The only reason I took off a star was housekeeping never checked on us once during our 4 night stay to see if we needed any towels or linens. We did receive some from the desk after asking. Other than that we had a great experience.

Spent $$$$ for suit found out it was on the third floor. Our kids' room was in a different building. We were told they couldn't change to our building, but the room next to us was vacant until our third night. People walk off the beach and use the pool. This should also be monitored and smoke at the pool with kids present. Asked for our room to be cleaned on third day trash and towels and sweep the floor. The head housekeeper said no problem. This was 930 AM still not done at 300 pm she said she gave them the wrong room number. My husband had to get his own towels. He was on vacation for what you pay getting service should be a given. The staff that takes care of the property is amazing. Rob on maintenance has been there for decades. We have been here multiple times up grades to the rooms are nice but general property management needs fine tunning. Coffee pot in the rooms, especially the suit, would be recommended. If you want a great beach location with party feel,this is your place. We will return for short stays.

First impressions were hard to get past. There were at least 7 or 8 flies in the room when we entered. There was also some sort of blue chemical substance on the roll of toilet paper. Finally, there was a nice big patch of mold in the bathroom tile.... Location isn't bad, but for the price, I wasn't very happy. My kids enjoyed the pool, at least!

I wasn’t going to leave a review but I looked on here just to see if anyone was having the same problems. We’ve stayed here for 20 years plus on and off. It’s under different management now which is disappointing. I read the last review because we checked out also a few days ago but did not finish our stay at the beach house Dewey because of the condition of the rooms. We went down the road to the Hyatt. Our room had dead flies on the walls and tons of flies upon entering our room. The floors were dirty. The bathroom floor had a substance all over it. It just looks like a run down hotel. The pictures on the website are not up to date at all. Also our fridge did not work right and they were unable to accommodate anything to correct it in a timely matter. The lock on the door was also broken. Just disappointed and when I explained this all at the front desk they just said ok. Didn’t try to save business or anything. So I’m assuming others have had the same experience. I’m not one for leaving bad reviews but it’s sad to say I think its needed so other people don’t waste there time to come stay there.

My sister and I stayed here after our father passed for a much needed break from family. The room was clean and comfy. The pool was clean and although we didn't use it, the other guests staying were respectful and not noisy or loud. The front desk staff were great. Always attentive to our needs and when we needed towels we got them immediately. The location is perfect being right in the middle of a convienance store, pizza, subs, and many other choices. It's in between rusty rudder and the starboard. The beachbaccessbis right next tonthe hotel. Parking was great. Always a spot available. Would definently recommend this place to friends and family. Will be back for sure.

I would not know about the hotel because my reservation was not found. Had the paper with me. Hotel blames Groupon, Groupon blames hotel for not flagging it. If you are going to partner with these 3rd party sites stay on top of it. Do yourself a favor and call ahead to verify they have your reservation. Nothing like finding out your reservation is not found at 10pm. Yes, they offered us the last double room at a bay hotel. If I wanted to walk across rt 1 to go to the beach I would have booked there. Staying away from this company in the future. Usually stay at the Atlantic View where I never had a problem in 30+ years. This was a short notice trip and they were booked so tried somewhere else. You see where that got me.

Positive: The location to all of our favorite spots in Dewey as well as the distance to the beach as well as the bay. Negative: It's nothing regarding the hotel, however people would hang right outside of their rooms, and ours, and talk very loudly at all hours of the night.

Room is ok. Only double beds. Bathroom is small and tight. Microwave and fridge are old. Adults and kids yelling and screaming at the pool and from rooms down to parents at the pool. Music blaring. Dogs barking loudly. Don't expect a nice peaceful vacation or rest here.
