BayShore Resort - Featured Reviews (284)
We unfortunately got stuck on the island because a storm came in and the ferry would not go back out. We were only planning on going over for the day. We found Bay Shore Resorts had a couple rooms for us. And needless to say, this was there last night for the season. There seemed like there was only one person working there. Couldn't believe how expensive the room was for the night for just sleeping there. It was over $200 for the last night, the ice machine was next to our room which made a screeching noise the whole night, AND you had to buy a 12oz cup of coffee in the morning for $3.16. Hell I could pay less than that and get free coffee and breakfast at a Holiday Inn. The view was nice off the screened in deck...when the weather would have been nicer. Just seems a little pricey to me for hardly anything but a nice view. Checked in to see how much to rent a golf cart...even though we really didn't want to since it was raining, but they said $75.00 for the day. Hell I had it cheaper with my reservation, that got cancelled, for a ferry ride and a golf cart for the day from E's Golf Cart Rental. Room was nice, high beds, but bathroom could use an update.
I specifically booked the Bayshore because they said they had ADA accessible rooms. When booking they made me e-sign a document stating that an ADA room was actually required. When we arrived, they said I was booked into a normal room. The front desk had me call Arriva to get it straightened out (which they did but not until after many phone calls and a lot of wasted time. The Arriva representative that I spoke with asked how I booked my room, and I said on the website. He said that was why there was an issue and I shouldn't have booked on the website. Seriously?). The beds are ridiculously tall, you need a running jump to get in. Had to get a step stool from the front desk for my Mother to climb on to get into bed. Considering they had a step stool, I am going to guess we are not the only guests to have had an issue with the height of the beds. I think they need to re-read the ADA guidelines. ||The bathroom was moldy, and it is never a good sign when there is a plunger sitting in plain sight. The carpet in the hall and elevator needs to be replaced; it is dirty and coming up in places (I know it is the end of the season, but some basic maintenance would be nice). The room didn't have a refrigerator or coffee maker (you can purchase coffee in the lobby, but the attendant couldn't get the latte machine to work). The electric golf cart was nice but very expensive. The view from the balcony was excellent but the screens were ripped and need replacing.||I will never book at an Arriva property again as this was a very sub-par experience.
Oh, where to start, if I could give zero stars I would. First, I was asked numerous times for my scanned id, even a few hours before check-in when I was in an area where I had no cell service to send an attachment (on the island!) Place is getting run down, not clean at all. Asked for regular coffee in my room since it only had decaf and was told that was all they had, that I could buy coffee in the lobby during their business hours! NOPE, went elsewhere to purchase coffee! Had non stop issues with my key not working, every time I went to the front desk no one was around and I had to search for someone. Although after seeing what the other places were like on the island maybe this was one of the better ones. Not sure, but I will never stay at an Arriva location ever again, this was way overpriced for the condition of the place! On the plus side, the pool and hot tub were wonderful, along with the view from the balcony.

The place is getting run down, and not clean at all, mold in the bathroom and the room just needs a good cleaning, the hallways are filthy and the trim is falling off the walls. Our door did not shut properly, we had to lift and shove to get it to lock. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the pool and hot tub were nice, the breakfast was good and it was close to downtown. We are looking forward to coming back!
First timer. Staff was not "present". On their phones like we weren't there , we said good morning and they ignored us. We were out right in front of the tiki bar,we asked for a different room, and one with fridge, they said no problem...when we went to check in they charged us an upgrade fee and still no fridge,no iron either. Room was dirty, sheet had blood stain. We almost left but was too tired. The elevator stunk bad and carpets were stained. There was an inch of dust on most things. We asked them for 1 spoon they said don't have any, ummm you are standing behind the coffee counter. We never ever complain, but this was crazy to be under new owners and not work on the place.
Have been coming annually 20 years. I did prefer the more personal contact of reaching out to the desk staff directly for reservations and pricing could be more transparent. I also do not care for the rather invasive booking process, but I do appreciate they have kept it the quiet adult place to stay on the island. I suppose enhance screening is part of that now. Many reviewers were bothered by the lack of room amenities like a fridge ...would be nice but these were never there so I didn't miss them.
I am very disappointed with what they have done with the tiki bar. The selection is now very limited, and could be generously described as price gouging, even by island standards. I love the bar and would usually reliably sit for hours a few trips but would not pay the high prices and limited selection this trip. Good coffee inside but always out of supplies. Still excellent trip. Love to get away
The stay here was fine. The rooms were decent but definitely could have been cleaner. The staff seemed to not know much about how the place was run, which led to lots of confusion. There was no fridge even though it said there were fridges online so when we arrived with medicine and food that needed refrigeration there was no option for us and we were told “some rooms don’t have them” with no offer to help rectify the situation.
The pool and tiki bar are the reason my review is a little higher, because they were both very nice amenities.
The location is great.
I’m not sure why the listing here says “smoke free property”. There were people smoking on every balcony, we couldn’t even sit out on ours at all without being surrounded by smoke.
This was our first stay in Put In Bay. We couldnât have selected a nicer place to stay. The owners are down to earth and friendly! . The staff also were extremely polite and friendly! The room was beautiful and very clean! They have nice littl
Nice quiet spot to pull over, park your cart and eat lunch or dinner and chat with your friends. I did not see any washrooms. The views of the harbor and docked boats were great. Plenty of Geese in the area, so watch your step. A few people were fish
Amazing breakfast in put in bay. Great view of the main street. Server was amazing and the food above excellent. Great way to start your morning on the island. I highly recommend. Enjoy
Update: We had to go back to Pasquales Cafe for breakfast. We we
A must see whenever we visit Put-in-Bay. We went rather late in the year this year in October, so the warmth inside the Butterfly House was very welcomed! It's very relaxing to walk and try to identify each species from the handout they give you. A g
The tour was well worth it and Johnathan our tour driver was excellent and was very knowledgeable and made the experience well worth the visit , I would advise this trip to anyone to see the island
Super cute little museum with tons of interesting information! It was $5 for an adult which I thought was very fair. Itâs worth checking out for the price. The little film they put on is super boring but itâs also quite old, which is actually pre
A unique home that was originally a ship that has been converted. We were unable to see the inside because of the day we were there but it was fun to add a padlocks to the fence to commemorate our trip.
