Baymont Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lafayette / Purdue Area - Hotel in Lafayette - 201 Frontage Rd, USA

Property was close to restaurants and close enough to campus. Property was an obvious remodel that could use a little bit more refreshing. Slightly mildew scent in the room but otherwise quite clean. Bed was clean and comfy. Breakfast was skimpy but sufficient to get us out the door quick. We had scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, cereal. We just needed a quick night's rest before going to an event and this property was sufficient.

This was possibly the worst hotel experience we have had in all of our traveling, and unfortunately, it came at the expense of my kids move in day at Purdue University. All levels of customer service failed to provide any actual service. Starting at the outside doors of the hotel there is an incredible smell that can be best described as “stale cigarettes rolled in fabric softener and air freshener” and two other families we didn’t know were having the same reaction of disgust walking in. That same horrible smell circulates in the halls and the rooms - embedded in bedding. The A/C didn’t cool properly, the toilet seat was not stable on the floor and rocked like a boat when you got on and off, and outlets did not work properly. When we immediately went to the front desk and asked to be moved, we were told the following: the hotel is full and rooms are preassigned, there is no maintenance person to fix any issues, there is no manager on duty to speak to - even though a sign had a name listed and said otherwise, and when I asked the front desk clerk her name, she told me she doesn’t tell guests her name for “safety reasons”. She gave every response with a shoulder shrug and zero concern - offering nothing to make the room issue or my guest experience any different. Back up in the room I called the 1-800 number, voiced my concerns, and after several minutes was directed to another number, voiced my concerns, ONLY TO BE TOLD, you’ll hear from someone via email in about a week about your concerns. BUT I COULD go to the front desk of the hotel and ask her for further assistance. I explained that she was part of the problem not my solution. Absolutely unbelievable. Absolutely unacceptable. Not to mention, this night cost my family $400, as the hotels raised their prices during college move in week. I wouldn’t let my dog stay here.

Where to start. The pullout bed was discussing with highly questionable stains. The hotel could not provide another room or fix this situation. The town is full up due to students moving into Purdue. The hotel could not provide all the bedding to cover the bed. Apparently they have no blankets. The room was not prepped at all. We needed to ask for extra everything. The team stinger here is were paying 333 a night for this. The owner suggests that they have duvet covers for the bed. The bed literally had no sheets, duvet or anything. It was a thin, stained mattress. Sadly their claim is untrue, the only reason given was they ran out of bedding because other customers stole them. And yes the area has elevated prices for rooms, but offering a room that cannot accommodate what they said is the issue. Not the price. Location is okay, there is highway noise but it is minimal. Otherwise area is quiet. Breakfast was ok, something for everyone. Day staff was friendly.

Very thankful to the owner and staff of the Baymont for our 8 night stay there. Clean, neat business. Not too many frills but room was tidy, clean, everything in good repair. Only item below 5 stars would be that the fitness area needs some work. I didn't come for that but I was glad it was there. Bike and treadmill worked well and I used 3x each day but the electric water dispenser was not hooked up in any way. It would be very well served by a water station after your workout; just one of those with the big blue water jugs on top would be fine! Complimentary breakfast was good, all staff was polite and helpful. Kudos! I will probably not find myself in Lafayette again but I recommend to those passing through!!! Oh and I heartily recommend you hit City Barbeque while you're in town if you haven't before. Best brisket you will EVER HAVE.

My Husband and I were attempting to divert our Travels around Indianapolis Due to the Holiday week end and the big car race. Looking at the map we discovered the route with a stop in Purdue Area that coincided with the amount of time we wanted that day on the road. The Baymont more than met our needs and the surrounding area looked so beautiful! Our room was spacious, comfortable, quiet AND CLEAN! Breakfast was good and in both quality and selections. We will definitely consider staying here again if our travels take us in this direction. There are plenty of Restaurants within walking distance. This was a very enjoyable stay!

Stayed one night! Nothing fancy but was only looking for a place for the night. Surprised that most of the hotel allowed smoking! Breakfast was just ok! Bisquit's good but Country Gravy was watered down! Good choices of juices and cereal! TV in room was hard to figure out where certain channels were! Pillows were ok but I've had better! Carpeting in room had some kind of red streak (almost like blood).

Stopped here for the night while driving past. It’s conveniently located close to I-90, the town has good food options. Hotel was great. Very clean, modern, great beds and pillows. Large vanity in a bathroom, plenty of space. For the price point it’s beyond amazing

Room was clean and kept clean every day. Quiet, clean, average hotel. Breakfast is “ok”, nothing special but decent. As a single woman traveling I felt very safe. Happy with the stay. It’s not a Marriott or Ritz but it’s a decent lower priced hotel.
