Baymont by Wyndham Panama City Beach - Hotel in Panama City Beach - 11004 Front Beach Rd, USA

We first go here and the room had a pair of dirty panties behind the bed. We decided to let it slide because it's a busy weekend and mistakes happen. The next day our toilet started leaking and the room smelled awful. So they moved us into another room which was better than the first. However we're now on day 2 without towels. We're have to use the hair dryer to dry off at night. I'm not saying I refuse to reuse a towel I mean there literally were none, not even a hand towel and they keep telling us to come back later for them. I don't need a hotel to be perfect since I spend the majority of my day elsewhere on vacations but I should have to be stressed over a freaking towel.

We were made to wait b/c someone overbooked and it was like 5 or 6 of us waiting unsure if we're even gonna have place to stay. We had been here many years ago and our stay was much better then. The place had been let go and looked dilapidated. There was trash all around the waters edge where turtles were. The location is good and proximity to places is good too. The place needs to be fixed up a bit and install a towel drying rack in rooms plz.

This was the ABSOLUTE WORST booking decision we've made. The property was horrible. Our stay was not great. We asked for towels and pillows and never received them after being told they would be brought up to our room. We had to go to the front desk hours after the towels and pillows never arrived to our room. The front desk receptionist nonchalantly told us that they had no towels and couldn't give us any. We had to go out and buy towels to accommodate our stay at this property. The room was barely ok. Mold was in the corners, the bathtub had a hole in it and was very slow draining, the bathroom door wouldn't close, our clothes in the room were constantly getting wet from the amount of moisture in the room, and the property overall was very dirty and unsanitary. The phone in our room didn't not work and housekeeping never came even after being requested. There was so much mold, mildew, and deterioration around this property. We used to stay at this property often when it was named Ocean Breeze By the Sea and it was always clean and enjoyable. I'm not sure what changed, but please do better. The mold and mildew alone is enough to make someone extremely sick. We will not book here again, and I really hate that this property has come to this very low and unacceptable point.

If I could have left less stars I would have. We arrived Aug 23 at check in time. We checked in with an extremely rude desk clerk. She was snapy and condescending. She acted as if we were bothering her from her video watching. Then as we were trying to get to our room which was on the second floor only to find out that the elevator was out of order. I'm 64 and my daughter and I couldn't carry the luggage up to the second floor. We finally got to our room there was no towels or blow dryer which was advertised. There isn't a pool on property the pool is at the hotel across the street. There was supposed to be breakfast which was only cereal and frozen milk. So disappointing. Everytime we asked for towels we were told they didn't have any . They hadn't gotten their delivery of towels.. The last day we were there I asked for towels and they sent me hand towels. They didn't clean our room and when we requested it to be cleaned it was picked up no towels we took the trash out sand still in the bed. Every worker we interacted with was angry and rude. I'll never stay in the hole again. It's dirty falling apart and rude workers made this trip awful.

The room smelled like a man's urinal no matter the fact that the maintenance man went and bleached the floors after I had checked in, both beds and the table were broken in various ways, the bathroom wall was disintegrating around the bathtub, the toilet would not flush completely, pieces of the ceiling were falling off, it was very loud all day and night and the only elevator there did not work over half of the time. I understand that you can expect to get what you pay for but a roach motel would have been more sanitary than this for half the price. I will never stay here again and I will ensure that everyone I know is told of the abysmal upkeep that this place has received. They do serve a continental breakfast but I could not bring myself to eat in this disgusting place. The only thing about this cesspool is that it's easy access to the beach across the street.

If I could give this 0 starts I would! Whatever you do, do not stay here! The place was disgusting. My family and I decided to stay in Panama City an extra night and for some reason, I picked this place. Never again! The building itself was run down and looked horrible, either way, I had already paid for it and it was just for one night right? We get checked in, we go up to our room, and the door barely closed, the curtains didn't cover the windows the whole way and people could see into our room. The bathroom door was barely hanging on, and the toilet was constantly running unless we lifted the handle up to stop it. We did not have any towels in the room so I went downstairs to mention it and was told, when they had some they would bring them up which didn't happen. So I had to use the spare towels I had in the car. The bathtub did not drain either which is gross! The location was okay I guess as it is just a quick walk over to the public beach area, but there was no direct pool at the hotel. Overall, I would highly advise you to scroll past this hotel when you are looking at places to stay in Panama City, as this place is a dump on the beach.

Positive: My room was clean and smelled nice upon arrival. I got fresh towels as soon as I asked for some Negative: The beach front view is actually from across the street from the beach still a beautiful view nonetheless. The breakfast was mediocre, cereal, pound cake, yogurt, and frozen sausage biscuits and burritos.. wasn't the best breakfast selection.

One star is GENEROUS at best for this place, the only pleasant experience with any of their staff was when their property managers had to step in. First off, the location is great and the building is fine, I booked a cheap hotel so I won't whine about the quality. The AC worked and the room was clean. However our bathroom light was motion censored and went off WAY TOO QUICK to where we showered/peed in the dark or had to dance around to get the light back on. The tub drain was constantly backed up too. Also their towel situation is terrible, you have to be around when the towel truck gets in and they will only give you 2 no matter how many guests you have, CRAZY!! I asked for two bags for ice, and they said they could only give me one, talk about stingy? they were rude and dismissive to everyone no matter their reason for being in the lobby. When we got there early, we couldn't check in early which is understandable but when we asked to leave our bags they just kept them in the lobby, and did not have a separate room for that, what hotel doesn't? Now for the worst part, we asked for late checkout and were told it was $50 for only an extra hour, so we declined. The next time I was in the lobby, the worker said actually I could have until 2pm for free since we were leaving on a Monday and they weren't fully booked that night, so on our last morning we left for the beach and came back around 12:30 so we could be out by 2. Upon return, we went to ask for towels to shower and she said "no you can't you guys don't have a room all your stuff is right there," and points to everything we brought thrown into trash bags in the lobby. I asked her why since she told me we could have late checkout and she said it was because we only had until 12 and didn't pay, the opposite of what I was told the day before! So now my friend and I are sandy, in bikinis, needing to shower and looking at our stuff carelessly thrown into trash bags in the lobby for everyone else to see. TALK ABOUT FEELING VIOLATED!? I asked her why she didn't call me, my number is on the reservation, if she thought we should have been checked out and weren't there, she said she didn't have time for that. Although I'm sure that phone call would have been much faster than the time it took to move all of our stuff. She would not let us check the room to make sure our stuff was all out or anything. While trying to repack our stuff, I was throwing out food in a trash can next to her, since they took EVERYTHING out of our room and it had been sitting out, she then decided she felt threatened and called the manager to come over. To my surprise (and relief) the manager approached me first and I explained that we had been granted late checkout, returned to gather our things to find out our stuff had been thrown into the lobby. He apologized, and while I talked to him the other manager brought my friend to double check our room. The two property managers were very kind, and let us return to the room to shower as well and brought us fresh towels. But it sounds like all of this went on without their knowing. I cannot believe a front desk employee could have the authority to move guests things without manager approval! I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated having dealt with that on our last day, what terrible service! Especially seeing 30+ empty rooms on our way back up to shower, it's not like they needed ours soon! To everyone looking at this hotel- STAY AWAY!!!! And to the Wyndham Property group, I suggest you keep a close eye on this hotel and its employees! I was told renovation will happen soon, and I suggest with that change you hire new lobby personnel! All of the maintenance workers and cleaners I experienced were nice, the issue is your ladies running the lobby.
