Bayfront Restaurant - Sushi restaurant in Eureka - 1 F St, USA

My partner isn't much of a seafood lover, and I just love sushi, so this restaurant has the best of both worlds. We wanted to go for the Teppanyaki but didn't know we had to make reservations beforehand for that experience. From the sounds of it, the people who were a bit smarter than us had a great time. We were able to watch the sunset from the table we were given. The food (both the fish and the chicken) and service were amazing .

The teppanyaki side is pretty decent. We had a lage group of 10. I felt our food was a little overcooked. Service was slow getting drinks. The atmosphere is great & the "show" is funny and exciting. It's definitely a fun thing to do for special dinners with friends and family. Wednesday is half of the bottles of wine!

Great service and atmosphere. Me and my friend meet here atleast 1x a year. The sushi is amazing, they have a good variety of drink options. I have never tried their Italian food, but it looks yummy. Thanks for awesome service and great views of Humboldt Bay and the Marina.

We had lunch here on 7/1 around 1:00pm. Even though we had a large party of seven and a baby, we were immediately seated and the staff were super warm and welcoming. The hot sake was delicious, even though I would have liked it a little warmer. The miso soup had a deep umami flavor that was very comforting. The jalapeño poppers were fantastic. The spring rolls were very reminiscent of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but in a good way. And my rolls were exactly what I expected with what I ordered. We all enjoyed our meal and had a wonderful time!

In comparison to big cities, restaurants in Eureka close early. We first came to this place was one of the ones to close “late” (we were later told they stoped taking orders at 9pm). Although we came here by chance, we ended up returning the next day not only because it was convenient (we were staying close by), but because the boardwalk around it is pretty and the food was also very good. But what really did it for us was the people, super friendly staff, made us feel welcome in Eureka. I would definitely suggest you stop by. Bonuses: ground floor & easy parking.

Interesting restaurant: not often do you find Italian and Japanese cuisine in the same place. The food was delicious, the service was great. To top the meal off we shared this wonderful, rich Mousse au Chocolat.

I came around 5 pm when there were very few people in the restaurant. All of a sudden there was a line behind me to sign in. Once someone came up to take me (took a while, hostess busy on the phone taking an order). I was seated immediately. Waiter took my order and was kind. She got the tamari sauce for me because I can't take gluten. I ordered the Bayfront sampler which came with sunomono salad which I asked to add tako(octopus), That was delicious it comes with a semi-sweet vinaigrette. Right as I finished that she came with my sushi order of 7 pieces 4 kinds of nigiri and a California roll with shrimp instead of crab. These were tasty as well. Only thing she missed was the pint of cider I requested. I brought it up when I was checked in with near the end of my meal, she took it off my order.

My 17 year old daughter went here for a birthday dinner with all her friends. She spent $50 on her own food - one plate, got halfway done and found a large hair in her food. It turned her stomach and she politely asked for a refund of her hard earned money. They flatly refused telling her she had already eaten most the food! 😳No apology either! She works at Sushi Spot so she knows about service! She was very upset and then proceeded to have diarrhea all night. It was confirmed the next day that two other friends also got diarrhea! Don’t go here! Such a bummer for a local experience. Maybe new ownership as it used to be good?
