Love going to Bay Rest. Was my grandparents favorite place to go, been going there as a kid when visiting. Great atmosphere, great view of the lake, great staff.

On a trail ride with 7 utv's, 17 people. Arrived at 11:05, place opens at 11. Bartender just standing outside, doing nothing. Owner arrives at 11:10. Ask when she was opening, no answer. At 11:20, still not open so we left. They just lost over $100 in business. Trail riders, skip this place and go someplace else

Great food and the staff were amazing buddy the bartender was on point with the mixers hit the spot brandy she was the best will be back for sure 😁😁😁

Our party of 7 came into the bar at 8:00 on Sunday wanting food and drinks. The bar was very busy, Buddy was tending bar and is a (rockstar). He made sure to take our drink and food orders immediately. Kari was our server and did an excellent job taking care of us. Kelly, the owner cooked our amazing food and made sure we were happy with everything. We could not have asked for better service and food. I highly recommend coming here. We live in La Crosse and will be coming here often. Buddy,Kari, and Kelly, you all rock!!!! Thank you so much for going above and beyond, we appreciate you.

I love this resort! I make the 5 hour trip half a dozen times a year during the summer and a few times for ice fishing. The rooms are basic but typically you're there for some outdoor sports related task. What more do you need? 2 beds to a room, a television, restroom, shower, the usual plus a bar/restaurant with the best damn burgers anywhere!! ||If you don't like this type of setting then you expect too much because HUNDREDS of people come right back to it every damn year! I certainly wouldn't want a 5 star resort when I intend to fish the entire time. Could you imagine the looks you would get if you went in to a 5 star type of place after a day of fishing? ||Everyone ive met there is warm and welcoming. I'd recommend a trip here any day!!||||I read some of the reviews some people left previously and I've never been treated rudely by any of the staff! In fact I'm headed back up in 2 weeks. It's the typical "Up North Style" type of place everyone looks for. Great fishing, great people, great food, and a place to clean up and sleep to the next day and have another great day.

Had the fish fry and it was fantastic! Staying in one of the cottages. Clean and comfortable. Could use some updating but priced fair and everything works. Very pleased. As with every business they are running on a skeleton crew. All employees are friendly , helpful and they have great attitudes.

This was my first trip up to Petenwell and I'm glad I picked this place to stay. The rooms are basic and no frills with comfortable beds and very clean. The owners, Tom and Kelly, could not have been any friendlier. I can't speak to the food because I didn't eat there but I did have a couple of beers in the bar. The staff and patrons were all super nice people. As a bonus, the fishing on the lake was pretty good. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend on a beautiful lake with friendly people you can stop looking. You found it.
