Bay Inn of Petoskey - Motel in Petoskey - 2445 Charlevoix Ave, USA

Despite of all the reviews here, me and my husband had a wonderful experience during our stay. The room was very clean and newly renovated. They were very good at communicating all the details. They sent us text and emails so we got the code for our door and other details. The view from Lake Michigan was very pretty. I will recommend this place to friends and family.

It took me a bit to think about how I was going to write my review on our experience here. We arrived around 4pm on a Tuesday. Never received my code to get in the room so I sent a message to get it. We waited almost a hour before we could gain access to our room. No bathroom facilities for us to use while we waited for our code so I started knocking on rooms that had people. My poor 73 and 82 year old mother and aunt had to go to the bathroom and a kind couple let us use their bathroom. There was a cleaning lady that was of some help but only when she was there. Our rooms were very clean. We had 1 wash cloth, 4 towels and 2 hand towels. For 3 people. If you need anything you have to send a text for the items. The beds are very comfortable!! Overall our stay was pleasant but we probably won't go back. Reason... no one to assist with items needed..

Pleasant, contemporary style rooms. Very clean rooms. Quieter at night than I expected. Didn’t need earplugs like I did at 2 other motels we stayed at along the way. Beautiful views of the lake and bay. Patio with tables and chairs on front lawn, or benches on porch outside rooms if you’d like to sit with coffee or drinks. Initially I wasn’t sure our door had unlocked but it was just very hard to open and had to be slammed shut, but it did work.

Perfect location!!! The Bay Inn is so close to everything around the city of Petosky. The tables and chairs out front were nice for enjoying the beautiful view of Little Traverse Bay. Our room was nicely remodeled & decorated. Loved the bathroom arrangement and the beds were very comfortable. Nice addition of Keurig coffee and tea. Never heard any traffic or noise while sleeping with the fan on. It’s a wonderful place to stay while visiting the area. And there is more remodeling coming to the outside with hot tubs in the near future. We look forward to returning!

We really loved staying at the Bay Inn! Our room was clean and really cute. Loved the little extra's like tea and coffee. You can't beat this location. It is close to everything and the views are amazing!

Booked this hotel looking for a nice spot away from the main touristy parts of Petoskey. While the rooms were nice and clean, the walls were pretty thin, and a lot of noise was present. I will give them an exception because there seemed to be renovations being done, but there was constantly loud banging from outside early in the morning which was not pleasant. One nice thing about the hotel was self check-in. For the price, I expected it to be a little better and maybe include some sort of breakfast, but I cannot say that wouldn’t stay here again.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Do not waste your money. I had to clean the shower before I got in (black hair everywhere). They didn’t have the right code for the door programmed so we had to wait. The beds had sheets that felt like paper. The front stairs getting to the second level are eroding. The second floor balcony fencing is for not up to code. No extra towels or sheets. They said the hot tubs were ready to use and they had no water in them. A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice place, newly renovated/updated. Exceptional views, quite and close to the city but enough distance so your not in the city. Across the street from a vast network of cycling/running/walking trails. Love the overall atmosphere. Reasonable prices.
