Baumhower's Victory Grille - American restaurant in Tuscaloosa - 500 Harper Lee Dr, USA

Great place for a casual meal with fair prices! There are tons of TVs inside where you can watch sports and overall ambiance is very sports-oriented. We came on a Friday afternoon and were sat immediately but there was miscommunication between servers and we weren’t approached until 10 minutes later, but our server was very apologetic and he did a wonderful job making sure we were taken care of. We ordered from the “inflation bites” menu, which includes a drink. The tailgate burger has a 1/3 lb patty and comes with LTOP and curly fries. We were asked how we wanted our burger cook, and while I asked for medium, it came out well done. The toppings were abundant (except for the onion, which I got a little quarter sized slice), but they had huge slices of pickle. Our food came pretty fast and tasted good, disregarding the fact that it was overdone. We’ve come before and ordered boneless wings and they were well made but we didn’t love the sauces (honey BBQ and sweet chili). Overall nice place for a sports bar feel and we were very happy with our server but the food isn’t going to blow you away.

I was taken here for lunch today since it was my birthday. I ordered the grilled shrimp with wild rice and broccoli. My friend ordered the fried shrimp with curly fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw. He got a sweet tea that tasted like syrup. He ordered a glass of water to replace it. He told the staff it was my birthday, so after I had almost finished with my meal, they embarrassed me by singing Happy Birthday to me and giving me a basket of beignets with powdered sugar. They didn't have any taste to them. It was like eating powdered sugar on fry bread. I might have liked it a little bit more if it had chocolate syrup drizzled on top. So after two bites I set it aside. She brought our check and it still had the tea on it. So we pointed it out to her and she had it taken off. I still want to try their sandwiches. They had a lot of kids there today. So they must serve something that they like.

I am a foodie so I often gravitate to places local to the area I'm visiting. I had to get back on the road so I ordered to go. It took a little while over the estimated time for food to be prepared; HOWEVER, it was absolutely worth the wait! Food was great. While waiting on food, I had the chance to scope out the restaurant. The atmosphere was really cool. Seems like a great get together spot for food, drinks, game watching, & laughs. Only bad thing is (not on the restaurant's part), my daughter only ate half of her chicken wrap. Due to her falling asleep and holding her takeout box, her remaining food fell 💔. She was soo hurt because she was definitely pleased with the food. Unfortunately, we were 2 hours away by then 😔🤷‍♀️. I will definitely be back when passing through AL.

Came down Alabama to visit the BFG plant. On our way to lunch, Dennis took us thru the university. It was an awesome experience. What was even better was this place he took us to eat lunch. Baumhower's was great. From all the TV's showing all kinds of sports to the sports memorabilia and down to the food, it was great. We shared the fried pickles. A distinct difference from the typical fried pickle at most places. Then came the wings. They were possibly the best wings I've ever had. I ordered the Jamaican Jerk flavor. All I can say is they were awesome. If I get to go back thru Alabama and there is a Baumhower's Victory Grill nearby, I'll be stopping.

Was in town visiting family and we all decided to eat here. Overall, this was a pretty good experience. We had a large group of 17 and our server did an excellent job. Our family of 4 started with the Char Grilled Dippin Chicken and they were amazing. For entrees, we had Boneless Honey BBQ Wings (which were just ok), Hot Lips Salad (which was alright), Pollo a la Cubana (which was fantastic) and the Geaux Fish (which was really good). The menu is large so there are plenty of other entrees that I would want to try because most of them sounded good. Hopefully, we visit Tuscaloosa again and will be able to come back!

Had dinner tonight after "Hey Coach" the restaurant had obviously been very busy prior to us coming in. But, that did not affect our service or dinner. Our server Momo was exceptional! She was very attentive and engaged in conversation when asked. She stayed on top of things yet didn't hover. The food was outstanding even though the night was no longer young. Everything was cooked perfect. From the hostess to the cooks to the server, we really enjoyed our night. Running into Dont'a Hightower after our meal was an added plus 😊❤️🏈

Very nice Sports Bar & Grill. We went for New Years dinner. A little bit loud, but was expected. The Rose Bowl on every screen, with all eyes on the Crimson Tide. Made for a great first-time visit. Good food, good service and GREAT Home Team fans. Will definitely be back.

The atmosphere is fun with more TV’s broadcasting sports than you want to count. The food is typical pub style food with some healthier options. The service and operation of the restaurant is extremely poor. It is evident that the issue is management as the servers are typically very nice but it will take a long time before they even show up to take your drink order. They will hardly return to your table so do not expect to get a refill. I don’t know if they have too many tables or what the issue is, but we have had the same experience with different waiters during our last three visits since November. One of our visits they failed to put our order in and after 30 minutes of waiting and asking they figured out that they lost our order. They did comp the food, but it took almost an hour to get the food. The positive is that it is a fun environment, but if you go, expect terrible service and a long wait.
